The Diary Game [24/09/2026]:Attended the funeral of a family friend of my sister who was shot by separatist fighters.
Hello fellow steemians accept warm greetings from this end of globe .To be precise northwest north west region of Cameroon.Today is one of the sad and painful day as my sister family friend will be laid to rest today .Due to the socio-political crisis in Cameroon .
Affecting north west and southwest region .Power tussle between the government and separatist.The demands of the separatists has not been granted has turned to serious violence,kindapped and death are recorded with series of lockdown imposed .
This my sister family family friend is a young and vibrant man .Married and has three kids and a driver by profession.Its sad that on 16/09/2026. At the agency were they carry passengers to various locations out of town. He happened to beside the driver immediately when the unidentified gunmen attacked their agency for moving on lockdown day .
Two of them as drivers were shot and they were all run to hospital .As emergency after few minutes he died but the other driver is still alive responding to treatment.He a very popular man his death put everyone in shocked , pains and sadness. He was a very popular driver know for his good character and work.
His mortal remains was kept inthe mortuary while death of burial is arranged . Today is 24/09/2026 is the burial his corpse will be removed from here and he will be laid to rest in his village where he has built.At 8:00am we arrived at the regional hospital mortuary for the removal of his mortal remains.
Today is Thursday a lot of people are removing their corpse’s as well .We had wait to wait for the mortuary workers to give a signal they are done with the corpse. We stayed at the mortuary yard for some time .Everyone being in shocked and pains.Imaging the emptiness how our love ones just leave like that without any words or moments of awareness.

The painful part was the wife and three kids left behind. They were just crying it was hard for them to believe dad is no more .A painful exit .May God comfort the family and friends left behind to accept this difficult moment .
Few minutes the agency he was working there as a driver arrived with his coffin and it was taken straight to the mortuary where his mortal remains with be put inside. It was a painful 😥 and sad as the population came out for him .From indications he was a good man to everyone around him.
After, some us could be able to go to the his village for burial . They decided we should have a short small service after viewing of his mortal remains before it’s taken to the village . In less than hour short church service and viewing corpse was done
Later, the corpse was put inside the bus to be taken to the village for burial proper .In 2hours time they arrived in the village. The funeral went on good without no problem . May Gerald soul keep resting in peace 🙏🙏🙏and may God comfort the family especially the wife and the children left behind.We pray for peace to reign back in Cameroon .Especially the affected areas northwest and southwest region of Cameroon 🙏🙏.
I was deeply saddened to read your post. My heart feels heavy, especially when I think of his wife and three young children weeping. No one desires war or conflict, yet the consequences can alter an entire family's future in an instant. May the Creator grant peace to the soul of the late Gerald and give his family the strength to bear this profound grief. I also pray for the speedy recovery of the injured driver. May the Creator grant everyone the wisdom to distinguish right from wrong and guide them onto the right path.

Really a sad news friend this has been happening for quite a long time in our country and that how people have been killed .Hoping for peace to reign back 🙏.

Thank you @steemcurator01 for the concerned and support on my post .It’s really a sad situation in the affected regions of our country Cameroon. where I happened to live . Due to the socio-political crisis for almost 10years now there is power tussle between the government and separatists fighters . The demands of the separatists fighters claiming the Anglophone regions are marginalized has not been granted .
Majority decided tobe come seperatist (unidentified gunmen) .Terrorising the whole community with laws . Thousands of people have died due to Anglophone crisis as victims , displaced and homes burnt.Some have lost properties etc .This time around our country is not safe a lot of atrocities committed by separatists on the population . Kidnapping asking Ransome to paid before release and killing is common everyday .Making the Cameroon Economy very hard and difficult for people to have a means of living .We pray God should listen to our prayers by intervention for peace , unity and love to reign back .
