My Favourite Hobby: Craft Making

I'm glad to be part of this amazing challenge, which is all about hobbies. We all have something that we enjoy doing in our free time, and for me, one of such things that makes me happy is craft making, especially paper crafts and beading.

How My Hobby Started:

I always enjoy creating beautiful things with my hands. There's this special fulfillment I usually felt when I do. Paper crafts and beading are special to me because they allow me to turn simple materials into something amazing, attractive and useful. I love the process of starting with raw materials, using my imagination and gradually turning them into something beautiful!

I particularly enjoyed beading, I always enjoy the opportunity of making different designs and accessories. It gives me joy to play with colors, arranged the beads, and combining them to create something unique. Paper crafts is also my thing, because it allow me to explore my creativity in different ways.

I'm always happy and proud of myself each time I finish a project and see the beautiful result of my handwork. You know, there's something special about looking at something what you made with your hands and knowing that you created it through your ideas, patience and effort. Oh not to talk of when others commending my creations!

The Skills I Need:

One need to be creative to be able to make any kind of craft. It requires patience a lot, concentration and paying attention to details too. For beading, I need to understand the different kinds of beading techniques, how to arrange beads, combine colors, fellow or develop designs. For paper crafts I needed to master cutting, folding, measuring and joining the materials neatly and properly.

Learning is a continuous process, so I'm still learning and improving my skills as I practise frequently. Sometimes, a project may not turn out exactly as I imagined, but I normally see that as an opportunity for me to learn and do better next time.

I love discovering new techniques, and I love challenging myself to create different designs. For me, there's always new things to explore in the world of crafts.

My Children Are Learning Too!

One of the things I love most about my hobby is that my children are also learning these skills from me.

They are always happy and eager to assist me in their little ways whenever I'm working on any craft project. Their excitement usually makes the experience more enjoyable. I used to allow them to participate in ways that are suitable for their ages. My 9 and 7 years old know matting and stringing. They can make simple bankles design and necklaces. The used to help me with cutting, folding and pasting of paper craft.

I believe in teaching children creative skills I know it's a wonderful way to help them develop their creativity, imagination, patience, concentration, and confidence. All more so, it gives us an opportunity to spend quality time together.

Who knows? My little learners may become even more creative than their teacher someday! 😊

Is Craft Making Expensive?

Well the cost is depends on the type of project I want to make. For example some paper crafts can be done with simple and affordable materials, or even with the materials I already have at home. While beading may require more money especially if it's fabric beading, or bags depending on the kind of beads, accessories and design I want to make.

I try to work with the material available to me and I plan my projects accordingly. Some projects may need more investment though, so I plan well, the truth is that the joy and satisfaction I get from creating something beautiful always make the effort worthwhile.

Why I Love This Hobby:

Craft making is more than just a hobby to me. It is a way to express myself, ease boredom, develop my skills, and turn my imagination into reality. It also gives me an opportunity to share what I know with my children and inspire them to explore their creativity

I'm always proud of myself whenever I see something I created, I feel sense of happiness and pride. It's that feeling that encourages me to continue learning, practicing and creating.

Mind you I have other hobby too, and that's cooking and trying new foods, I love dancing and reading too. Haha please don't call me Jack of all hobbies😘
