S34 Challenge Week 6B: From a University Project to My Own Business Idea
Hello everyone I hope you all is good enjoying your life.
Today I am participating in Season 34 Challenges Week 6B Lets Talk Busines.
When I read this question I immediately thought about busines idea that start from something very simple my university final year project.
At that time I did not know that auniversity project would later become the starting point of my Own busines idea .
How the Story Started
The story actually started when I receive my Final Year Project (FYP) at university.
My project idea was to develop multi vendor website where different seller can creates their account sell their product through one Online platforms.
At that time my main goal was simply to complete my university project successfuly.
I worked on the website solve different technical problem tested different feature and finally completed the projects.
But after completing it I started thinking:
What if this is not only a university project ? What if I can turn this idea into real business?
I didn't have the complete answer at that time but the idea stayed in my minds.
The Meeting That Changed the Ideas
After some time something interesting happen.
One day my boss at Bano Qabil called the entrepreneur for a meeting.
During the meeting he told us that if anyone had a good business idea We should share it with him. He said that if he liked the idea he was willing to invest in it.
This was very important moment for me.
I remembered my university project.
I thought about the multi Vendor market place I had already develop and decide to pitch the idea.
I explained the concept and how I want to develop it into real online marketplace.
Fortunately they liked the idea.
And this is where my real journey start.
From Idea to Reality
After getting the opportunity I start working seriously on the idea.
But having an idea building a real business are two completely different thing.
A university project can be completed for specific deadline.
A real business website need much more
- Planning
- Development
- Testing
- Product management
- Seller management
- Customer experience
- Marketing
- Problem solving
- Continuous improvement
I had to work through many problems during the development process.
There were days when things worked perfectly there were also days when I had to solve problems again and again.
But I kept working.
After around one year of struggle learning testing and development I Was finally able to build the websites.
The name of the platform is:
PakMadee
Website: PakMadee
Take a screenshot of the PakMadee homepage and place it here.

What Is PakMadee?
The basic idea behind PakMadee is connected to the same concept that I develop for my university final year projects:
A marketplace where sellers can sell their products online.
Instead of creating a separate website from zero sellers can use a marketplace Platform where they can presented their product to potential customer.
For me this is exciting because I am not only thinking about website anymore.
I am thinking about a business ecosystem involving seller product customers online marketing.
Product/Marketplace Page
Open the PakMadee website go to a product listing or marketplace Page and take a screenshot here.

One Year of Learning
The biggest lesson from this journey is that building busines is not as easy s thinking about a business idea.
When I first created the university project I mainly thought about the technical side.
But while working on the real project I understood that there is much more behind business.
You need to think about:
Technology + Customers + Sellers + Marketing + Trust + Operations
A website can be beautiful but that alone does not make it a succesful business.
People need to use it.
Sellers need a reason to join.
Customers need a reason to buy.
And the business needs a sustainable ways to operate.
My Business Model
The basic business model I have in mind is based around a online marketplace.
Sellers
Sellers can bring their product to the platform.
Customers
Customers can discover products through the market place.
Platform
PakMadee provides the online platform that connects seller customers.
This creates a three-sided relationship:
Seller → PakMadee → Customer
The more useful the platform becomes for both sellers and customer the more potential it has to grow.
Seller/Shop Section
If PakMadee has a seller dashboard seller registration or shop page take a screenshot of that page here.

How Would I Market It?
Building the website was only the first step.
The next challenge is getting people to know about it.
Because I already have experience with digital marketing social media online content creation I would use different digital channel to promote PakMadee.
Some of the methods I would use includes:
- Facebook marketing
- Instagram marketing
- TikTok videos
- YouTube
- SEO
- Social media content
- Influencer marketing
- Paid advertisements
- Seller referrals
I would also encourage sellers to promote their own product because they can become part of the marketings network.
For example if 100 sellers are selling through the plat form every seller share their product with their own Audience the platform can potentialy reach many more peoples.
Competitor
An online marketplace is not a empty market.
There are already many established e-commerce platform in Pakistan and internationally.
This means PakMadee needs to find its own Space.
I don't want to simply copy another marketplace.
My focus would be on building something useful for local seller customers improving the platform gradualy and learning from the feedback of people who actually use it.
Take a screenshot of one more important PakMadee page such as categorie seller store product details or another page that show the platform clearly.

What About the Investment?
One thing I have learned from this experience is that business requires both money and time.
The investment is not only the money spent on developing website.
There are also ongoing cost such as:
- Website hosting
- Domain
- Development
- Maintenance
- Marketing
- Advertising
- Customer support
- Technical improvements
And there is an other cost that we sometimes forget:
Time.
I spent around one year working through the development challenges of this project.
That time itself was a major investment.
My Future Plans
I don't consider PakMadee the finals destination.
I see it as the beginning.
There are many things that I would like to improve in the future.
My future plans include:
- Bring more sellers to the platform.
- Increase the number of products.
- Improve the customer experience.
- Improve the website based on user feedback.
- Promote the platform through digital marketing.
- Build stronger social media presence.
- Explore different ways of supporting local sellers.
- Gradually expand the marketplace.
I know that growth will not happen overnight.
It will require patience investment marketing and continuous improvement.
From FYP to Business
When I look back the most interesting part of this journey is the beginning.
At university I was just trying to complete my final year project.
I created a multi-vendor website because it is my project.
Then months later I got an opportunity to pitch a business idea.
I remembered that old project.
I presented the idea.
They liked it.
And then I spent almost year working to turn that idea into something real.
This taught me something very important:
Sometimes an idea that starts as a university assignment can become the foundation of a real business.
Final Website View
Finally take a clean screenshot of the PakMadee homepage or the page you are most proud of and place it here.
Caption: PakMadee the result of an idea that started with my university final-year project.
I am still learning.
I don't want to say that PakMadee has already become huge successful business because the journey is still continuing.
For me the achievement is that I took an idea from my university project presented it when I got the opportunity then spent almost a year working on it until I could build the platform.
The next challenge is to turn the platform into sustainable busines.
I believe every business starts with an idea but a idea alone is not enough.
You need to work on it learn from your mistake listen to people and keep improving it.
This is my business story so far.
From a university final-year project...
to a business pitch...
to one year of struggle...
and finally to PakMadee.
Thank you for reading my story.

Hello @hamzayousafzai, while reading your post, one idea immediately came to my mind because I recently followed some courses about affiliate marketing. Since PakMadee already connects sellers and customers and you are thinking about seller referrals and digital promotion, you could eventually add an affiliate program where users promote products through personal referral links and earn a small commission when a sale is completed.
This could help your sellers reach new audiences while allowing the platform to grow through people who actively promote it, and it would fit very naturally with the Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and influencer strategies you already mentioned. I think it could become an interesting future feature for PakMadee. #s34engagement
yes that great idea thank you so much
