The Diary Game [10/09/2026]:A Day In My Life,Exams,Work at the shop And Preparing A Fresh Catfish pepper Soup
Hello my beautiful family of Steemit! It’s your favorite baby girl @classicprincess, I hope you all are having a wonderful day? Today was quite a mix for me—stressful, productive, and ended on a very delicious note!
I had morning exams today ,so immediately I submitted my answer script and stepped out of the hall, a huge wave of relief washed over me. But there was no time to rest just yet! I immediately headed over to my shop. As a hair vendor, stylist and wig maker, I had a mountain of pending work waiting for me—customer wigs to revamp, treat, style, and package. My store is located upstairs, right inside our small market park, While I was upstairs busy handling hair and running around, something outside caught my attention. A woman drove into the complex, opened the boot of her car, and lifted out a massive plastic bowl filled with live catfish!
It turns out she breeds catfish right in a pond at her home and brought a fresh batch to sell at our small market. Now, if you know me, you know catfish is not an everyday meal for me. Truth be told, catfish is quite expensive no matter how small the size is, and living on my own in a different state, I rarely buy or prepare it myself.
Whenever I eat catfish pepper soup, it’s usually because I traveled back home and my sweet mom decided to spoil me with her special recipe!
Looking at those fresh fish swimming in the bowl, my mouth started watering. It has been a hot minute since I tasted proper catfish pepper soup! Usually, I make goat meat pepper soup on a weekly basis and pair it with agidi (a firm, smooth cornstarch solid paste). But today felt special. I thought, "Classicprincess, you worked hard during exams, and you’re working hard at the shop today. Treat yourself!"
So, I didn't hesitate. I walked down, priced one, bought it, and rushed into the market stalls to grab the rest of my fresh spices.
MY FRESHLY,NEATLY WASHED CAT FISH
Look at how fresh and clean this fish is after washing!
Once I finished all the hair work at the shop, I closed up shop and zoomed straight home. My kitchen was ready for action. Cooking pepper soup is an art, and using local spices gives it that authentic, soul-warming aroma that fills the whole house.
THE INGREDIENTS I USE FOR MY CAT FISH PEPPER SOUP
Fresh Catfish
Salt
Seasoning Cubes
Crayfish
Fresh Pepper
Scent Leaf
Aiden Fruit
Local Pepper Soup Spices
First, I placed the thoroughly washed fish into my pot and coated it evenly with my dry seasonings and crushed ingredients.
Next, I poured in my freshly blended pepper mix to give it that bright, fiery kick.
To give the soup that deeply traditional flavor and rich herbal note, I added the piece of Aiden fruit into the pot along with enough water to bring everything to a gentle boil.
After letting the fish simmer gently so the flesh stayed tender without breaking apart, I tossed in a fresh handful of chopped scent leaves right at the end. The burst of fresh herbal fragrance immediately made my mouth water!
I scooped out a piece to check the richness of the broth, and the aroma alone was enough to tell me this meal was going to be top-tier!
Instead of my usual agidi, I decided to pair this spicy catfish pepper soup with a hot bowl of plain white rice. The combination of spicy, flavorful soup poured over warm white rice was pure perfection. Every single bite felt like a cozy reward after a long day of exam stress and hard work at my store.
It turned out so delicious and comforting! Sending you all love 😘 @classicprincess Thank you for reading and supporting
