The Diary Game: (16/8/2026) Attending Sunday Service
Hello everyone, welcome to today’s episode with yours truly, @odiwo. In today’s episode, I’ll be sharing with you how my Sunday went.I woke up grateful to God for giving me the privilege of seeing another beautiful day. Honestly, life is one of the most precious gifts we have after salvation. The fact that we are still alive means that God still has a purpose and plan for our lives. Sometimes, we may not understand everything happening around us, but waking up each morning is already a reason to be grateful. After praying, I took my bath, got dressed, and prepared to leave for church. I worship at Assemblies of God Church here in Port Harcourt, and attending Sunday service is always something I look forward to because it gives me an opportunity to fellowship with other believers, learn from God's Word, and spend time in His presence.
I got to church and joined the Sunday school session. I had the opportunity to teach the children today, and honestly, I really enjoy teaching them. Children can be very interesting to be around. They may ask unexpected questions, but their innocence and willingness to learn always make the experience enjoyable. After Sunday school, we joined the adult church for the main service. The preaching was definitely the highlight of my day because the message was one that really made me examine myself. The topic of the message was “Be Careful of God”, and the Bible text was taken from Numbers 12:1–16. The message was delivered by Rev. Dr. Eleazer. One of the major lessons from the message was that God does not like murmuring and negative criticism. In the passage, Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, the leader God had appointed. God became angry with them, and Miriam became leprous. This reminded me that we have both positive and negative criticism. While constructive criticism can be helpful when it is done with love and the right intention, negative criticism can easily lead to murmuring, division, and confusion. We should therefore be careful about the way we talk about people, especially those whom God has appointed to lead us. Before criticizing someone, it is important to examine our hearts and ask ourselves why we are doing it.
Some of the dangers of negative criticism mentioned during the message were:
- It can reduce one's anointing.
- It can bring confusion.
- It can disorganize the house of God.
Good criticism should be constructive and should be done carefully, respectfully, and with love. The next time you want to criticize someone, ask yourself: “Am I doing this from a place of love, or is it coming from envy, pride, or resentment?"
That question really stood out to me because sometimes our words can reveal what is actually going on in our hearts.
Bible Reading
One thing about me is that I really love children. I enjoy being around them, and thankfully, they seem to enjoy being around me too. After the service, I remembered that one of the children had told me earlier that we should take pictures together. So, I called her and some of the other children to join us, and we took some pictures together. It was such a lovely moment, and I was happy that I remembered. Sometimes, it is these little moments that make our days memorable.
We took a picture
After that, I eventually headed home, grateful for how the day went. Today was not just another Sunday; it was a day filled with worship, learning, fellowship, and beautiful moments with the children.I’m also taking the lesson about criticism with me because it is something we can all apply to our everyday lives. Our words matter, and we should always be careful about how we speak about other people. Thank you so much for reading through today’s episode. I really appreciate you for always coming along with me on these little diary journeys. Stay tuned for the next episode, and until then, stay strong, keep trusting God, and remember to be grateful for the gift of life.

Thank you so much
