SVM Testnet Milestone: Sherpa Protocol Live, 28 Contracts Deployed & Blockscout Explorer Live

in Steem Dev2 days ago

Hi everyone,

Following yesterday’s announcement regarding our deployment plans, I am thrilled to confirm that the operation was a complete success. The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) has officially taken a massive leap forward, transitioning from a foundational EVM layer into a fully functional decentralized finance environment.

Sherpa Protocol is Officially Live

The Sherpa Protocol is now fully deployed and operational on the SVM testnet (Chain ID: 8163).

This deployment includes the successful launch of wSTEEM, the SHERPA governance token, and the entire underlying protocol architecture. In total, 28 smart contracts have been deployed to the network.

To ensure maximum transparency and a seamless developer experience, all 28 out of 28 contracts have been fully verified and are ready for public interaction.

Official Contract Addresses

Below are the core contract addresses for the Sherpa Protocol ecosystem. You can copy these directly to begin testing and integration:

Introducing SVM Blockscout: evmscan.steemscanner.com

A robust DeFi ecosystem requires robust tooling. To support this new phase of development, I have successfully deployed and configured a full Blockscout instance for the SVM network.

You can now access the official SVM block explorer at:
🔗 evmscan.steemscanner.com

This explorer provides:

  • Full source code verification and readability for all 28 Sherpa Protocol contracts.
  • Real-time transaction tracing and EVM execution logs.
  • A familiar, industry-standard interface for developers migrating from Ethereum or other EVM-compatible chains.

Network Health and Stability

Throughout this deployment, the underlying SVM testnet remained perfectly healthy. The chain continued to produce blocks at a consistent ~5.3-second average, with our 11 active validators maintaining 100% uptime and successfully processing the increased load of contract deployments and oracle data feeds without a single consensus interruption.

Next Steps for Developers and Validators

The sandbox is now officially open.

  1. For Developers: Begin interacting with the LendingPool, testing the wSTEEM wrap/unwrap mechanics, and integrating the SherpaOracle price feeds into your own test dApps.
  2. For Validators: Continue monitoring your nodes and oracle clients. The SherpaOracle contract will now be actively reading the price data your oracles are submitting, making your role more critical than ever to the DeFi layer's security.

We will be monitoring the network closely over the coming days to ensure all contract interactions execute smoothly and to gather feedback for any necessary refinements.

Testnet Disclaimer

Important Reminder: The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) is strictly in its testnet phase. All bonded STEEM, transactions executed, and tokens generated are purely for testing the consensus and EVM execution layers. There is no real-world monetary value attached to this chain or its assets.

Reaching this milestone is a testament to the relentless hard work, rigorous security standards, and collaborative spirit of this community. Thank you to the validators for keeping the foundation solid, and to everyone who has supported the SVM journey thus far.

The infrastructure is built. The contracts are live. The future of DeFi on Steem starts now.
