Prove Yourself is the best artist for the week

Today I am participating in this beautiful art contest of Week 85 with one of my new pencil drawings. This time I have tried to sketch a girl who is wearing headphones and seems engrossed in her thoughts in her mind. I loved that make it the simple and calm style of this drawing, as it was an interesting, unique experience to highlighted facial expressions and feelings, hair and headphones with just a few pencil lines.

My drawing idea

I made a girl in side profile. He has using big headphones on his ears, hair tied back and a calm expression on his face. I tried not to make the picture too complicated and difficult but to create beauty through simple pencil work and art. For me the headphones are the most prominent part of this image, as they give the drawing a modern look.

Step 1:

First I took a A4 white paper and entered my username @abdullaht and the date at the top before I started drawing.

I then made the initial and very basic sketch of the face of the girl with a very light pencil.

Step 2:

I completed the whole and completed shape of the forehead, nose, lips and chin of the face. At this stage I tried to keep the lines soft to maintain the natural shape of the face disturbed.

Step 3:

Next I made the headphones. First sketched the headband and then the round speaker part near the ear. I added several layered lines to the rounded part to make the headphones stand out more.

Step 4:

In the next step I made the hair. Used long and directional lines for the hair. Then the hair was gathered in a beautiful way at the back.

Step 5:

Finally I did a little bit lighter shading in the girl clothes and hair and used a darker HB pencil in some places to make and fill realistic looks clean and clear. This created maintaining contrasts of light, dark and shadowing in the drawing and made the whole image of girl appear clearer than before.

How long did it take?

This drawing took about two hours to complete. The hair and headphones details took the most time, as I wanted both parts to look clean and balanced.

My choice and feeling

I was quite happy after the drawing was finished. At first there was just a sketch of the face, but gradually hair, headphones, clothing and shading were added. That's what I love most about pencil art, that after a little work on a simple piece of paper, a complete picture emerges.
I got the idea and choosing for this drawing from people listening to music and modern fashion available in this world. Headphones are a common part of our daily lives these days in whole world, so I thought I'd include them in a creative pencil sketch. I tried to give it my own unique style by adding details on the face, hair and clothing.

I hope you all like my drawing and its different stages. In my view, a good artist is one who keeps trying, because every new drawing gives us an opportunity to learn something new.
