We Agreed That Mummy Traveled.

Nothing on earth , not even military training prepares one for the loss of a loved one.

I've been trying different ways to introduce this conversation in a better way but I can't.

To the ones who have lost their caring loving mothers or fathers, I want to ask how they moved on, I want to know if they've forgotten about it, I want them to teach my pals and me how to scale through this phase.

How did we go from complaining that mummy shouts our names and sends us too many messages to hearing echoes of calls from previous days. How do we move from mummy calling us by 8pm if we're outside to nobody caring if you'll return home or not.

How do we stop ourselves from staring at her portraits in the parlour , we've been staring at them for years. The same portraits that made us smile now break our hearts.

How do we repay her for the things she did for us ? how do we dedicate our achievements to someone who is no longer breathing? I woke up this morning and wanted to ask, " mummy how many cups of rice should we cook"? "Do you need a warm bath"? There are things that we still depended on her for 😭

Oh death, have you no calendar or notification system? We were just there and boom.. my aunt is no longer breathing, the emergency unit at the hospital was filled up that they couldn't check her , before we got to the next hospital, she became so cold. 😢 My pal was screaming in the hospital environment, we prayed even when she was cold, hoping for a miracle to happen. Momma left without informing us 😭 😭 😭

To console ourselves after so much headache, I and my pals have agreed that she traveled. She traveled for a conference in Lagos and she'll be back to spend the Christmas with us.🥹🥹🥹

Oooh you're here! I'm sure my momma will come back. Happy new month and thank you for staying with me 💕 💕
