The Diary Game [16/09/2026] First day at work and also went to the supermarket
Hello everyone welcome to another day of my diary session with @thyabiodun.
I was to resume work on Wednesday after my interview on Tuesday, so I knew I had to wake up very early.
I woke up by 4:30am, said my early morning prayers, and then checked all the things I packed the night before to be sure they were correct and nothing was missing. After that, I helped my mum by fetching water before leaving the house.
When I was done with the water, I decided to make swallow to eat before stepping out. I knew the journey from Sango to Ikorodu is very long and I would need strength, so I ate well.
After eating, I took my bath, carried my bags, and stepped out. I got to Oshodi around 8:00am and entered a bus going to Ikorodu. My God, the type of hold-up we met on the way that day, I have never experienced it before in my life. For almost 1 hour, the bus did not move at all. We were just stuck in one spot.
I started getting scared and anxious because this was my first day at work and I didn't want to give a bad impression. I had to quickly message my manager to explain that I was inside serious hold-up and I might be late. thankfully, he replied and said okay, I should just come.
Eventually, after waiting for so long, the bus started moving small small until the hold-up cleared and the road became free.
I finally got to work past 11am. I was tired already, but I had to settle down quickly. They gave me the clothes I was supposed to make for that day.
I immediately got to work and started sewing. I was focused and I finished my work around 7pm. After I submitted it, I stepped out to the supermarket close by to buy some things I didn't come with from home because I didn't want to carry plenty load.
I got back to where I stay, had my shower, and immediately landed on the bed to sleep. I was so exhausted from the hold-up stress and the sewing.
That was how my first day at work went. Very stressful but I thank God. See you in my next one, bye 👋
