POLL: Do You Like Gaming (on Steemit)?

Time flies, at least as far as the new dawn of the gaming era on Steemit is concerned. Last year, we were already having discussions about gaming on Steemit, and a lot has happened since then.
Unknowns suddenly became well-known and experienced unprecedented growth, but what about the games that were developed? There doesn’t seem to be enough enthusiasm for them. At least, if we are to believe @xpilar’s pinned post.
Although last year many voiced their objections, with addiction also being cited as a reason, this hasn’t stopped the development of more and more games on Steemit.

When I look at the communities I used to frequent, it takes the fun out of it for me when I mainly see posts with screenshots of the games in question, progress updates and results, and…??? To be honest, I’ve no idea. I don’t like seeing the same sort of updates over and over again. The same images, the same titles, to me, it’s neither inviting nor creative enough to make me click on them.
I’m not that bored, nor am I that curious, so I invariably skip these posts. If the aim is to invite other Steemians to join in, it certainly doesn’t work for me.

Why not?

It’s not that I never play a game. I have indeed tried Ludo, but gaming is one of the last things I’d do online.
A. I’m not bored
B. It requires an internet connection (which I don’t have on my phone or a data plan).
C. I’d rather do something else in my spare time (painting, writing, reading, Sudoku, Murdoku...)
D. I don’t like competitions; that takes all the fun out of it for me. What’s a thrill for one person is a source of stress for another, and that’s me. I’d rather do something I find relaxing.

When I see communities where all I see are these kinds of game-related posts, it strikes me as clutter, chaotic and ‘disguised’ advertising, and I can’t stand that.
I don’t find it interesting to read a review of a game I don’t play.

I’m also fed up with scrolling through communities for who knows how long, looking for a ‘normal’ post. Fortunately, there are hashtags to help me filter out what interests me.

As far as I’m concerned, quite a few communities have lost their charm and unique character.

I understand that all these games are there to attract investors, but with the exception of the wealthy Steemians, you won’t find them on this platform. Now, of course, you could strip the average ‘poor’ Steemian bare and make them play, but the question is whether this is the intention behind all these games that have been developed.

I’d advocate for a separate community, or two, for that matter, where all these games can be found.
Perhaps games that can be played on their own and in a competitive format. Maybe organising a tournament would be an idea. A biannual event, something like the Olympic Games for Steemit? That way, those interested can practise before entering a competition and, who knows, if there’s enough publicity on other social media, investors might well come on board. Although I suspect they have better things to do with their precious time than play games, but who knows, perhaps whilst they’re on the loo?
