in Steem For Lifestyle • 10 hours ago (edited)

My Fellow Steemian's,

I'm going to participate in a contest about stranded on an isolated island for a month with a very few belongings like a book, a song & a movie hosted by @steemit. I've to answer some question such as, why I choose this particular movie, song, & book through my perspective. I hope everyone will like my answer.

**What Will be My Chosen Book, Song and Movie?**

It is about spending an entire month in complete solitude alone with my thought, my surroundings & myself & to find a way to survive without losing my sanity. So i've to choose the book, movie & the song more wisely, that would really give me a true company for a long time like 30 days.

Book

My Chosen book would be One Hundred Years of Solitude (Nobel Prize Winner) written by a Colombian author called Gabriel García Márquez, published in 1967. It's original written language is Spanish. This writer is called the creator of a genre called Magic Realism.

Why I choose this particular fictional classic Literature novel ?? ::

The story follows the Buendía family though several generations in the fictional town called Macondo. There are births, deaths, love affairs, wars, celebrations, disappointments, & countless strange & magical things, that somehow feel completely natural in that world. The characters are not like truly alone in a conventional way. They have families around them, people to love, people to fight with & people to remember. Yet somehow many of them remain lonely in a very deep level in their own world. The struggle to understand each other, repeat the mistakes of them who came before them & carry memories & pain that seems to pass from one generations to another.

What makes this book special to me is the way it mixes ordinary human emotion with an extraordinary world. Love, Loneliness, family, loss, hope, & the passing of time are all woven into the story in a way that feels strangely familiar.

I've read this book 3 times & I've learned so many things about life from this one book. I believe, still this book has so many things to provide me about life, that I still couldn't extract from this book yet. After three times reading this book, I made a qoute for myself :

When we enter this godforsaken world, it always begins with an endless vivacity. But we wake up in an obscure dream, where we're gonna be locked alone into our own destiny, we can't escape

Memories With This Books ::

I got this book from one of my universities 4 year senior brother called Nahid Hasan (Chemical Engineering Dept. BUET). Unfortunately he committed suicide in 2015. So this book has a real philosophical & emotional impact on my personal life.

**Song**

I will choose a song called High Hopes composed by a British Psychedelic Rock band Pink Floyd from an album known as The Division Bell released in 1994.

Why I choose this particular psychedelic song ??::

I choose High Hopes because it feels like the perfect song for solitude. It carries memories, lost dreams, old friendships, & a quiet sense of longing, yet it never feels completely hopeless. When I listen this song, especially it's lyrical & musical progression, it gives me a reminder of where I've been, what I have lost, & why I should still have hope for what lies ahead. The lead guitar solo of David Gilmour at the end would probably make the silence feel even deeper.

If I'm going to spend a month completely alone, I don't want music that simply fills the silence, I want something, that gives the silence a meaning.

Memories With This Song
I've heard this song million times, maybe more. I got this band from my university junior hall roommate Rabbi, who is doing his Ph.D in USA. When I heard this song for the very first time from him, it catches instantly my senses, that this legendary music has something. I'm truly obsessed with this composition, it's lyrical & musical feel, etc......

**Movie**

I will choose a movie called Cast Away. It's an adventures drama movie directed by
Robert Zemeckis & written by William Broyles Jr.. The main leading character of this movie is Tom Hanks. It's more like one man show movie. It follows a FedEx executive whose life changes completely after a plane crash leaves him stranded alone on a deserted island, forcing him to adapt, survive, & confront himself in ways he never expected.

Why I choose this particular movie ??::

I choose this movie Cast Away, because the challenge itself is what interest me most. The idea of spending one month completely alone on an isolated island, with only a very few belongings & no modern comforts, is both frightening & fascinating.

The movie gives us a sense of what it might be like to face hunger, loneliness, uncertainty, & the constant need to solve simple problems with whatever is available, that we take for granted in our social life like making fire. It makes the challenge feel less like an adventure & more like a test of patience, creativity, & mental strength. Sometimes the hardest thing to survive is not finding food or shelter, its about to control own mind, when there is no one else around.

Memory With This Movie

I saw this movie in 2010 for the first time in my hall life at the university during a vacation period. coincidentally I was alone in the hall that night, when I was seeing this movie. It's a very inspiring film. I've seen, how to make fire actually in real life, when there was no gas light or match available. From childhood I heard fire is made by rubbing stone. But it creates spark, not making fire. Making fire is not an easy job in the context of physical labor. I was so amused to see that thing that, after seeing this scene, I accumulate my bed shit, pillow & burned them in balcony. Anyway, Its a very hopeful type film.

if I had space to take one luxury item, what would it be?

if I had space to take one luxury item, Though I'm an Engineer, I would choose an electric power generation system, such as a Wind Mill, which makes clean energy & power up all my device like Laptop (to watch movie), Speaker (to listen the song).

You just remind me of the same movie you will love to watch on the island. I have previously watched the movie and it's an interesting movie. All that you have chosen to carry to the island are useful and you will not feel bored on the island.
