My Kitchen, My Recipe, My Story : Week -5 (Homade Vegetable Salad)

Hello everyone, welcome to my entry for My Kitchen, My Recipe, My Story: Week-5. For this week's contest, I decided to prepare something very simple, affordable and refreshing: homemade vegetable salad.

I didn't want to make something that required too many ingredients or cost a lot of money. I just went with a few things I could easily get and turned them into a simple salad at home. I also love salad because it is a simple way of adding fresh vegetables to my meals.

A very quick salad recipe

INGREDIENTS I USED

For my homemade salad, I used:

  • Cabbage

  • Carrots

  • Cucumber

  • Boiled eggs

  • Bama mayonnaise

  • Peak milk

These were the main ingredients I used, and I didn't need to buy too many things to make the salad.

I arranged all my ingredients

WASHING AND PREPARING THE VEGETABLES

The first thing I did was wash all the vegetables properly before cutting them. I chopped the cabbage into small pieces and also cut the cucumber into smaller pieces. For the carrots, I used a grater to make them fine and thin so they could mix well with the other ingredients. After chopping everything, I put the vegetables together in a clean bowl.

ADDING THE BOILED EGGS

I had already boiled and peeled the eggs, so I cut them into smaller pieces and added them to the vegetables. The eggs made the salad more filling and also added protein to it. I gently mixed everything together so that the egg could spread through the vegetables.

ADDING THE BAMA MAYONNAISE

After mixing the veggiedand eggs, it was time for the Bama mayonnaise. I scooped some Bama into the mixture and mixed it properly with the vegetables. The mayonnaise gave the salad its creamy texture and brought all the ingredients together.

ADDING PEAK MILK

I wanted a slightly sweet and creamy taste, so I added just a little milk and mixed everything properly. I didn't want the milk to overpower the other flavours, so I was careful with the quantity.

I so love this part

THE FINAL LOOK

After mixing everything together, my homemade salad was finally ready. The whole process was quite simple. I didn't need expensive ingredients or a complicated recipe. Just a few fresh vegetables, boiled eggs, mayonnaise and a little milk were enough to make something I enjoyed.

My homade salad was ready

I choose this recipe because I wanted to make something simple and affordable. I also wanted something fresh that I could prepare without spending a lot of time in the kitchen. For me, recipes don't always have to be complicated to be enjoyable. Sometimes, the simplest meals are the ones that become part of our everyday cooking.

This salad also reminded me that eating healthy does not always have to mean spending a huge amount of money. With a few basic ingredients, you can prepare something fresh and nutritious right in your own kitchen.

This was my simple homemade vegetable salad for Week-5. It was easy to prepare, didn't require too many ingredients, and the final result was worth the little effort I put into it. I hope you enjoyed following me through the process.

What ingredient do you always love adding to your salad? I would love to know.

I would also like to invite these three Steemians to participate in the contest:
