My Kitchen, My Recipe, My Story: week-5 (Palm Oil Pasta Recipe)
Hello everyone, welcome to another episode of My Kitchen, My Recipe, My Story: Week-5. For this week's contest, I decided to prepare something a little different from the usual pasta dishes. I made palm oil pasta, a simple but delicious pasta recipe prepared with palm oil, smoked fish, cow skin and some colourful vegetables. This recipe is also quite simple, and you can adjust the ingredients according to what you have available.
The ingredients I used for this recipe were:
Pasta
Palm oil
Onions
Pepper mix
Smoked fish
Pomo (cow skin)
Seasoning cubes
Salt
Carrot
Green bell pepper
Red bell pepper
You can also use other vegetables of your choice.
HEATING THE PALM OIL AND ADDING ONIONS
I started by placing my pan on the cooker and allowing it to heat up. I then added my palm oil and allowed it to heat gently. After that, I added my chopped onions and allowed them to fry for a little while. The onions started releasing their aroma, which was already making the kitchen smell really good.
ADDING THE PEPPER MIX
After the onions had fried properly, I added my prepared pepper mix. I stirred it together with the onions and allowed it to fry properly. I wanted the pepper mix to cook well and develop a richer taste before adding the other ingredients.

I poured my pepper mix into the pot
ADDING THE SMOKED FISH AND POMO
Next, I added my smoked fish and pomo to the pepper mixture. The smoked fish added a lovely smoky flavour, while the pomo gave the pasta something extra to chew on. I also added my seasoning and adjusted everything according to my taste. I allowed the mixture to cook together so that the fish and pomo could absorb some of the flavour from the sauce.

Adding this alone gives it that native vibe
ADDING THE PARBOILED PASTA
Once my sauce was ready, I added my already-parboiled pasta into the pan. I gently stirred everything together, making sure the pepper mixture coated the pasta properly. At this point, the pasta was already beginning to take on the beautiful colour and flavour of the sauce.

I had already parboiled my pasta
ADDING THE VEGGIES
After mixing the pasta with the sauce, I added my chopped vegetables. I used carrots and bell peppers, but you can use any vegetables you prefer. You can use green, yellow or red bell peppers, depending on what you have available. I mixed everything together carefully so that the vegetables could spread evenly throughout the pasta.

I added my veggies and gave it a stir
THE FINAL OUTCOME
My palm oil pasta was ready at this point. The combination of the spicy pepper sauce, smoked fish, pomo and vegetables gave the pasta a very interesting taste. It was colourful, tasty and quite filling.
One thing I enjoy about cooking is that you can take an ordinary ingredient and give it your own little twist.
Pasta is something many of us prepare regularly, but instead of making the usual version, I decided to add ingredients that I personally enjoy, especially pomo and smoked fish.
This recipe also reminds me that you don't always need expensive ingredients to prepare something enjoyable. With the right combination of simple ingredients and a little creativity, you can come up with a completely different meal.
I hope you enjoyed following me through the process, and maybe this recipe will inspire you to try your own version of Palm oil pasta at home.
Have you ever tried adding pomo to pasta before? What unusual ingredient would you add to your own pasta?
