Air Force Flower Garden, Sakhipur

in Steem For Lifestyle • 4 days ago

Hello friends, how is everyone? The Air Force establishment in Sakhipur is a very popular institution. They have established schools and colleges here that operate under the Bangladesh Air Force. There is an entrance gate here; however, this is not the main Air Force base entrance, but rather the entry point to the officers' residential quarters.

There is a vast flower garden right in front of the gate, which is a major attraction and is known as the "Air Force Flower Garden." To visit this place, you need to travel to Sakhipur Upazila in Tangail District from anywhere in Bangladesh, and then proceed to the Bangladesh Air Force station at Pahar Kanchanpur.

Although taking photographs was prohibited here—as the site is under government control and designated as a restricted area—as a blogger, I felt compelled to take some shots. You can see beautiful flower gardens flanking the entrance; the flowers are lovely and enhance the natural beauty of the surroundings.

To the left runs a highway where traffic flows constantly, including Air Force vehicles. The gate to the Air Force residential complex is incredibly sturdy and virtually unbreakable, yet many people still take photos in the flower gardens.

The flower garden you see here features a special plant known as Baganbilas (Bougainvillea). I have planted this variety at my own home as well, though it takes a long time to mature. The plant visible in front of the Air Force housing complex is a Bougainvillea; having been planted many years ago, it now blooms profusely with hundreds of flowers.

The beauty of the Bougainvillea lies primarily in the exquisite combination of its lush green foliage and the thin, petal-like bracts—typically vibrant pink or magenta in color. In the photograph, the blooms are so dense that the entire plant appears draped in a vast, natural pink blanket.

This spot becomes quite popular between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, as many passersby stop to take photos in front of the flower garden. Although picking the flowers is strictly prohibited, you are welcome to take photographs. A security guard stationed inside the gate keeps a constant watch over the area.

The sight of the vibrant pink bougainvillea set against the blue sky is truly enchanting. The countless blossoms peeking through the green foliage infuse the scene with a sense of vitality and freshness, while the vines trailing along the wall add to its charm. So, in closing, I dedicate this moment to you—holding a few of these flowers in my hand.
