My Cat Luna - The little Queen Of My House

I Never Planned To Be A Cat Person, But Then Luna Came Along

I always thought I was a dog person. Dogs felt loyal, loud, and honest. Cats, in my head, were distant and too independent. That whole idea collapsed the day my sister brought home a tiny, shivering kitten in a carton.

We named her Luna. She was barely four weeks old, eyes half open, with fur the color of burnt toast. For the first week, she hid under my bed. She would only come out at night when the house was quiet. I would leave a small plate of milk and watch from a distance as she tiptoed out, drank, and ran back to her corner.

Slowly, things changed. One morning I woke up and found him sleeping on my chest. That was it. From that day, my room became his room too.

Milo is not like the aloof cats people talk about. She has a whole routine that now runs my life. At 5:30 am, she taps my face with her paw. Not a scratch, just a soft pat that says, get up and feed me. If I pretend to sleep, she sits on my laptop keyboard. She knows exactly what will get me up. In the afternoons, she follows me to the kitchen and sits by the fridge like a small supervisor.

What I love most about Milo is how she listens. I know it sounds strange, but when I had a rough day at work last month, I came home and just sat on the floor. She came, curled next to me, and purred for almost an hour. She did not need me to explain anything. That quiet presence meant more than any advice.

Having a cat taught me patience. It taught me that affection does not always have to be loud. Sometimes it is just a warm body sleeping at your feet, or a slow blink from across the room. Milo is not just a pet. She is my roommate, my alarm clock, and my little therapist.

If you are thinking of getting a cat, do it. Just be ready to never use your laptop alone again.
