Mango is one of my favorite fruits, now the mango season is almost over. The mango in my hand is growing on the mango tree in our rooftop garden. Our Rajshahi city is famous for mangoes. Mango is not only a delicious fruit, it is also deeply connected to our culture and memories.

It is quite fun to make various types of dishes including pickles, stews, chutneys, sherbet with raw mangoes. The sour-sweet taste of raw mangoes on a hot day brings back memories of childhood. The presence of mango trees in the courtyard of a village house or in the rooftop garden of a city house reminds us of the beautiful relationship between humans and nature.

Mango is one of the fruits that we look forward to in nature with the arrival of summer. I felt a great joy when I held a large unripe mango hanging from the green, fresh mango tree branch. The green leaves around, a few more mangoes hanging from the branch, and the natural environment combined make this familiar afternoon a living reflection.

This is not just a raw mango, it is a wonderful reflection of the summer of Bengal, the beauty of nature and the sweet memories of childhood. This mango season reminds me of the stormy days of my childhood, and the poem 'Mamaar Bari' that I read as a child. Perhaps nothing really beats the joy of going to my uncle's house and picking mangoes on a stormy day.
