Lets Talk About Fishes in Different Forms
Hello everyone, welcome to another interesting post.
Fish is one food that many of us are familiar with, but have you ever stopped to think about the different ways fish can be preserved and prepared before it gets to our plates?. Today, I want to share some pictures of fish that I came across and talk a little about each one.
SMOKED AND SEASONED FISH
Smoking is one of the traditional ways of preserving fish. The fish is exposed to smoke and heat for a period of time, which helps to reduce its moisture and gives it that distinctive smoky taste and aroma. Smoked fish can be eaten directly when properly prepared, but it is also commonly used as an ingredient in different Nigerian dishes. It can add a rich, smoky flavour to soups, stews and sauces.
DRY FISH
The second picture shows dry fish. Unlike smoked fish, dry fish is mainly preserved by removing moisture from the fish through drying. This helps it last much longer than fresh fish when properly stored. A small amount can add a strong and unique flavour to soups and other meals.
The next is fresh fish. Fresh fish is usually cleaned, washed and sometimes cut into pieces before it is cooked. Fresh fish can be fried, boiled, grilled or added to different soups and sauces. It is also a good source of protein and contains other nutrients that are useful to the body.
A DISPLAY OF FISHES IN THE MARKET
This last picture was taken at the market, where different fresh fish were displayed for sale. Looking at the different sizes and appearances reminded me of how much variety there is when it comes to fish. When buying fresh fish, it is important to pay attention to its freshness and ensure that it is properly handled and stored before cooking.

Fish can come to us in different forms, but each form has its own purpose. Fresh fish gives us the opportunity to prepare it in different ways. For me, seeing these different forms of fish also shows how food preservation plays an important role in our everyday lives.
Which one do you enjoy more, fresh fish, smoked fish or dry fish?
