When a Normal Workday Suddenly Turned Into a Nightmare

There are moments I'll never forget, they carry memories, emotions and pain in my heart. Today started on a good note and ended with one of the frightening experiences I ever had. Yesterday we were unable to finish our job then we patiently requested for what are needed to make it faster today, we packed all our equipment and materials in the vehicle and went to the site to meet the target before closing hour, we did split the team to make work faster and easier.

Today was supposed to be another normal day at work. We were focused on our duties, moving around the site and trying to get the job done. Nobody expected that, within a few seconds, everything would change. Immediately after the lunch break we heard that one of us had an accident, it was a shock to me, Seeing someone you work with get hit by a vehicle while trying to make things better for himself and family.

We often wake up, go to work, meet our colleagues and return home without giving much thought to how fortunate we are. But experiences like this remind us to appreciate every moment and to be more conscious of our safety and the safety of those around us.

Co-worker has been panicking since they heard about the tragedy and fear to continue their duties because of the frequent movement of heavy trucks. People around here are so sad and look lost and sad.

I thought deeply and think we humans are somehow ungrateful when things are going well for us but only call on God if any bad things occur. I pray God heal the victim and may be find comfort during this difficult period.
