Ingredients

The ingredients I used to make fuchka at home are listed below.

1000030070.jpg1000030058.jpg1000030055.jpg
Fuchka shell 50 grams
Peas 200 grams
3 medium sized potatoes
1 chopped onion
Boil Egg 1 pcs
2 chopped green chillies
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1 teaspoon chaat masala
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
Salt - to taste
Lemon juice -1 tablespoon
Making Process

Step One:

To make the fuchka , I soaked the peas. When the peas were soaked, I washed them well and put them in a pot. I chopped a few more onions to boil them, added a little turmeric powder and a little salt. Then I closed the pot tightly and cooked them for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step Two:

After cooling the boiled potatoes a little, I mashed the boiled potatoes well with a slotted spoon. I mixed the mashed potatoes with chili flakes, coriander leaves, chopped onion, lemon juice, salt to taste, chili powder, and boiled peas, then the filling inside the fuchka was ready.

Step Three

To make tamarind kadh, I took tamarind, washed it well and soaked it in a bowl. When the tamarind was wet and soft, I squeezed it well and threw away the seeds and pulp inside the tamarind. Now I added chili flakes and salt to the tamarind pulp and mixed it well. I added a little sugar to balance the sour taste of the tamarind. Now the tamarind pulp is ready to eat as a snack. I set it aside.

Step Four

Now to fry the puffed rice, I heated oil in a pan on the stove. When the oil was slightly hot, I dropped the puffed rice into the oil and fried it until brown. When the puffed rice swelled up well, I drained the oil. Now I have to serve them with stuffing.

Step Four

I broke the fuchkas into small pieces and filled them with the potato dal filling that I had prepared inside. I filled all the fuchkas with the filling in the same way and arranged them in a bowl and served them. Then I grated boiled eggs on top and served them with tamarind sauce.

What is your all-time favorite street food, and what makes it so special to you? Share the taste, memory, or place that makes you crave it the most.

My all-time favorite street food is Phuchka. The unique blend of sweet, sour, and salty flavors of Phuchka attracts me the most. The crunchy puri, spicy potatoes, green chilies, coriander leaves, and sour tamarind water all come together to create a wonderful taste that is not easily forgotten. But Phuchka is not just a food, it has many beautiful memories attached to it.

1000030120.jpg

When I go out with my son's, I eat the quick-tasting street food like Phuchka from the Phuchka stalls standing on the roadside, watching the Phuchka vendors quickly prepare Phuchka and enjoying the wonderful moments with the kids, all these make Phuchka special to me. When I smell the aroma of hot spices and taste the fresh Phuchka on the busy afternoon roadside, I want to try that taste again and again.

Is street food convenient for you? What's your opinion about it?

I think that street food is convenient, but on the other hand, there is a possibility of harm. Generally, street food may seem convenient to people because it is fast and cheap, but it is often risky in terms of health and safety. The advantages of street food are that it is quick and cheap to get food, and traditional and delicious food is available in different places.

In addition, the risks of street food are that since it is prepared in an open area, there is a risk of dust and germs getting into the food, the use of unhealthy water and rotten oil can cause stomach upset or poisoning. Harmful colors or spices are used to enhance taste rather than nutritional value. Therefore, I think that eating street food regularly is harmful to health, and these should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.
