My Best Life Hack

What is your favorite life hack?

Being asked of my favourite life hack and I thought I would share my version of a 'Permanent Ice-Bottle' for a fridge. Knowing how unreliable electricity is in Nigeria, I feel this is something that truly needs to be shared; as in Nigeria, it's a struggle to 'Cool' or be 'Frozen' when your electric is off for days. This life hack ensures that your food can continue to remain unfrozen, and you have chilled water, all without electricity!

Well it's this simple, all you need to do is get four bottles of 'water' (usually the 1L drinking water bottles that are expiring) and put them in your 'freezer' for a good amount of time until you're sure they've frozen up (completely and solidly). After that you simply leave it in there.

How does it help you in your daily life?

I can't even tell you how many meals have been ruined from being spoilt! However, with this trick you can rest easy that anything in your fridge that would have eventually gone bad will continue to remain 'fresh' for at least 48 hours straight without electricity because this keeps the freezer ' cool ' for up to a day and a half!
The other amazing benefit to this trick that I have to give this life hack credit for is giving me cold water right out of my fridge!
(This is another way that this trick saves me because rather than turning on the gen for a quick while just to get cold water and fill the fridge, or cool sodas)

Would you recommend others to try this life hack? Why?

Yes!!! Without a doubt it's a recommendation for absolutely everybody who can't afford to switch on their generator whenever the electricity goes off!

The 'life hack' has definitely worked consistently in my home, saving a couple of my meals, giving us chilled water without turning on the generator, which I know I will otherwise be using for things far more essential than just having chilled water at my disposal such as a laptop or even cooking. Best of all, it was free, turning ordinary tap water into something useful, while the bottles were also provided so I had nothing to buy from outside to get it done!
