📸 Life Through My Lens #7 | I Stepped Outside for Photos and Came Back with Life Lessons
I was really spending my day indoors. I decided to carry my phone along to view the outdoor environment. As usual I looked for three different things that caught my attention, and each one made me to stop for a closer look.
Morning Glory Flower |
|---|
Behold, here I am holding my phone looking for what to snap and then my eye caught this beautiful purple normal lying known as Morning Glory flower. However when I was viewing it from a very far distance, the flower was looking very casual and simple I didn't even feel like taking a shoot, but when I moved closer to it, I began to appreciate its beauty and like it. The petals looked almost like they were carefully folded by someone hand. The deep purple colour was even more attractive because of the green leaves and that were surrounding it.One thing I noticed was that some of the leaves around the flower had holes caused by insects, but yet the flower itself was still standing out beautifully without this holes.
That made me to think about how life really is. Nobody has a perfect environment. We all have something we are dealing with in the background. Some people are struggling financially, some are facing family challenges, while others are battling with things nobody can see. Yet many still find a way to keep moving forward and look their best like this flower. This flower wasn't growing inside somebody's garden. It was growing wild among ordinary plants, yet it was still impossible to ignore. Sometimes where we start from does not determine how far we can grow and shine .
Giant Land Snail |
|---|
My second photograph was this giant land snail. To be honest, seeing snails always reminds me of childhood days. Back then during the rainy season, it was common to see them crawling around walls, drains and wet paths early in the morning. And sometimes at evening, me and my friends will go out to search for it and bring it back home. Our parents will then use it to cook delicious meals for us.
However what really attracted me to this particular one was its shell. The mixture of brown, yellow and dark markings looked like an artwork. While taking the photograph, I watched the snail for a few minutes. One interesting thing about snails is that they don't move because anybody is watching them. They simply continue at their own pace they way they like it.
These days, everybody seems to be under pressure. Someone can just buys a new car, builds a house, travels abroad or start a successful business. So When we keep seeing things like these online, it might just be easy to feel like we are left behind. But this snail help to show me me that every journey has its own pace and pattern. A farmer cannot just plant maize today and hope to harvest it tomorrow. Certain things simply take time be the yield or harvest. For real the snail might look slow, but eventually it will surely gets to where it is going.
Sunflower |
|---|
The last photograph I took was this bright yellow Sunflower. Unlike the purple Morning Glory that was just standing alone, this flower was surrounded by very thick vegetation. Yet the moment I saw this beautiful flower, immediately it caught my attention. Why? Because this yellow petals truly looked very bright against the green background, and I particularly liked how the flower just seemed to face the light so beautifully. What came to my mind at that moment was how some people naturally brighten places. Yes, every neighbourhood has people like that. In my neighborhood there's one particular woman that loves to greets everybody she sees, even from afar. We her know her for that and she makes the neighborhood lifely.
These kind of people may not have the most money or influence though, but their presence can really makes a difference in the neighborhood. Looking at this particular flower tells the fact that sometimes the best thing a person can offer is just simply the positive energy and kindness. Let's all have in mind that the world already has enough problems. So anybody who adds a little light to the lives of others is doing something valuable and greatfull, which he or she will surely be bless.
Looking at my photographs today I realised how each one of it quietly told its own story. The Morning Glory showed how beauty ordinary place might looks. Then the Giant Land Snail also tells its own that progress does not have to be fast before it is meaningful and successful. Then lastly the Sunflower explain that people can make their surroundings better simply by being themselves and making our environment shines.
I really thank you all for stopping by my photography post today.
