◉ A memory that will never get old. ◉
There are some people in life. Who are not just a part of our relationships. But become a whole chapter of beautiful memories of our lives. They do not come to stay with us forever. But the time spent with them creates a place in our lives. Where their memory does not diminish despite the passage of time.
One such very special person for me was my cousin Umm-e-Habiba.
Umme Habiba was my aunt’s daughter and was about two years older than me. But guys there was more than just a cousin relationship between us. She was my best friend more than my cousin. We were both almost the same age. Which is probably why it was so easy for us to understand each other. Our likes our words our mischief and the way we spent time with each other made our friendship special.
Whenever there was a gathering in the family. We were almost guaranteed to be together. Whether it was someone's wedding function someone's birthday ceremony a party at home or going on an outing with the family. We tried to be with each other. It seemed as if the joy of any family gathering was not complete without our presence.
We had our own world in wedding functions too. Sometimes sitting and talking with each other, sometimes laughing, sometimes commenting on the people around us and sometimes just spending time with each other all this is still preserved in my memories. We also loved making and wearing similar clothes. Whenever clothes had to be made for a function, the thought would definitely come to our mind that why not have both of our clothes the same or similar. At that time, all this was just ao joy and a passion for us, but today when I remember those days, I feel that those matching dresses were also a beautiful sign of our friendship.
How did we know at that time that these simple joys would one day become the most precious memories of our lives.
We used to play together, jump, talk for hours and laugh over small things. We didn’t need any big reason to be happy. Just each other’s company was enough. Sometimes our conversations would never end. One topic would lead to another and we wouldn’t even realize how much time had passed. Sometimes teasing each other over something, sometimes laughing, sometimes a minor annoyance and then sitting together again after a while all of this was part of our friendship.
Today, when I recall those days of the past. I realized that happiness is not always in big events. Sometimes the most beautiful joys of life are hidden. In those small moments that we take for granted at the time.
Some moments seem ordinary at the time. But after time passes those same moments. Become the most precious treasures of our lives.
Then a time came in our lives that I never imagined. Umm-e-Habiba left us.
It has been about five or six years since they left this world. But some separations do not end with the passage of time. A person moves forward in his life. Returns to his busy schedule does daily work meets people laughs and is happy. But some people always have their special place in the heart.
Umm-e-Habiba is also present in the same place in my heart. Even today whenever I see a picture of us together it is not just a photograph for me. It becomes like a door opening to the past. As soon as I see the picture. I remember that gathering. I remember that day I remember the time when we were together. Our laughter our conversations. Our matching dresses our outings our playing and jumping. And every small and big moment spent with each other starts coming to mind. Sometimes I smile when I see that picture. Because it preserves a very beautiful memory of my life. And sometimes my eyes get wet. Because in this very picture they are with me. But in reality they are not with me today.
Time stopped in the picture but our lives moved on.
This feeling sometimes seems very strange. In a picture, we are together, just like we used to be in reality. But the world outside the picture has changed. I sometimes wonder how much we would have talked if Umm-e-Habiba were with me today. Maybe we would have shared the changing circumstances of our lives with each other. Maybe we would have sat together again at a family gathering. Maybe we would have worn matching dresses again at a wedding or birthday. Maybe we would have gone on an outing and taken many pictures of each other.
Thinking about all this, I feel a strange lack in my heart. But with this lack, there is also gratitude. I am grateful that I had a cousin. And friend like Umm-e-Habiba in my life. I am grateful that I got the opportunity to spend. So many beautiful moments with her. I am grateful that I have her memories. Our pictures and those countless small moments that I can still feel in my heart today.
A person leaves, but the time spent with them always lives within us.
For me, memories do not just mean remembering the past. Memories for me are keeping those people and moments alive in my heart that made our lives beautiful. The memory of Umm-e-Habiba also teaches me that we should value the time spent with our loved ones only when they are with us. We should not think that we will always have time. Because life does not give anyone the assurance that the next meeting will definitely happen, that everyone will come together again in the next gathering or that the next picture will definitely be taken.
Life does not give us the opportunity every moment to hug our loved ones again, so every moment spent with the people we have today is precious.
Even today when I look at my pictures with Umm-e-Habiba. Many memories awaken in my heart at once. Sometimes I laugh sometimes my heart is sad. And sometimes my eyes get wet. But among all these feelings one thing is always present love. Because if the memory of someone still touches the heart. If the moments spent with them still bring a smile to the face. And sometimes moisten the eyes. It means that person was truly special in our lives.
Umm-e-Habiba is not with me today. But she still walks with me in my memories.
Time took her away from us. But it could not take away the beautiful moments spent with her. Perhaps this is the real beauty of memories. We cannot go back to the past. We cannot relive the days that have passed. We cannot bring back our departed loved ones. But we can preserve the moments spent with them in our hearts. And that is what I do too. Whenever the picture of us together comes before me. I go back to that old time for a few moments. I remember the same laughter. The same conversations. The same gatherings the same matching dresses. And the same time spent together.
Then my eyes may get wet. But a beautiful smile also comes to my heart. Because I remember that once in my life there was a girl named
Umm-e-Habiba who was not only my cousin but also my best friend.
She was a part of a beautiful chapter in my life, and some chapters can end in a book, not in the heart.
She is gone from this world, but our memories are still alive in my heart.
And maybe they will always be.
Here is my post for today. Which I have shared with all my friends. See you in the next post.
Thank you for being with me.

Terimakasih temanku atas undangannya semoga anda beruntung dan sukses selalu ya 🌹👍
Such a deeply touching and emotional tribute to Umm-e-Habiba. The way you described her as not only your cousin but also your best friend shows how special and beautiful your bond was. I especially loved the memories of matching dresses, family gatherings, playing together, laughing over little things, and spending hours talking without realizing how quickly time was passing. Sometimes we do not realize how precious these ordinary moments are until they become memories.
The part about looking at old photographs and feeling as if you are briefly returning to those days was especially heartbreaking and beautiful. A photograph can preserve a moment, but the emotions and memories connected to it can stay in our hearts forever. It is clear that Umm-e-Habiba had a very special place in your life, and even though she is no longer physically with you, the love and memories you shared continue to keep her close to your heart.May God grant Umm-e-Habiba the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus and give you and your family patience and strength. Your final message is very meaningful—some chapters may end in a book, but they never truly end in the heart. May her beautiful memories always bring you comfort and a gentle smile.

The part about the matching clothes and how you both could talk and laugh for hours really touched me. Those small moments may have looked ordinary at that time, but I understand why they became so precious later. Sometimes we only realize the value of a moment after it has passed.
