The Diary Game:Going to a fast food joint and plucking some fruits. (01/11/2026)
Good morning guys, it's your truly @wizzyking and an here to share how day went.Yesterday was one of those days where I didn't have any serious plan at all. I just wanted to stay indoors, rest a little, and see how the day goes.
I woke up a bit late and spent the morning indoors. I was just cleaning, arranging some things, and scrolling on my phone. I wasn't feeling too strong to cook anything heavy, so by afternoon hunger caught me properly. I decided to step out and buy food for myself. I ended up at a fast food spot and I ordered half jollof rice and half fried rice with chicken. They added coleslaw and I bought a bottle of water to step it down. The food was served on that white plate with red drawings that you see in most eateries, on a red tray with tissue and my receipt on the side. The jollof had that party smoky taste, the fried rice had peas, carrots, sweet corn and small pieces of liver. I sat down there, ate slowly, and just enjoyed the moment. There is this kind of satisfaction you get when you eat good food after staying hungry for a while, that was exactly how I felt yesterday. I didn't rush, I just ate and relaxed.

After I finished eating, I didn't go home immediately. I decided to take a little walk and stretch my legs. While walking along the main road, something caught my eyes. There was this very long fence painted with beautiful murals, and the sky above it was so clear and blue, no cloud at all. The painting was so colorful. On one side, a woman in a yellow patterned dress was sitting and reading a book, on another part a man wearing a hat was also sitting on the floor reading with papers scattered around him. There were shelves of books drawn behind them, and further down the wall there were black and white drawings of different faces.

As I continued walking, I found myself at the side where they sell livestock. The sun was very hot yesterday, but people were still out doing their business. I saw a woman in a red top, she was holding up one of the animals to show a customer, and on the wooden table in front of her were several others already dressed and arranged. Behind her, on a higher wooden platform, there were live ones still tied, including a black and white goat standing and looking.

Not far from that place, smoke filled the air and I knew immediately what it was. It was the roadside roasting spot. When I got closer, I saw white chunks of yam cut in cubes spread on the grill, yellow ripe plantain arranged beside it, and behind them were some dry fish and chicken that were already roasted. The grill was made from a half metal drum painted blue at the bottom, you know that local way they make it. The woman selling was fanning the fire and smoke was just going up. Even though the smoke was entering my eyes, the smell was so inviting. This roasted yam and plantain with palm oil sauce is one of the things I love to eat when I am outside.

On my way back home, I passed under a tree that had some fruits hanging. I looked up and saw three almond fruits, the leaves around it were a mix of green and reddish. Seeing it brought back childhood memories. Back then we used to pick stones and throw at the tree just to pluck one. Now it was just hanging there freely and nobody was even dragging it.

That was how my day yesterday went and until next time, bye guys.
Sounds simple but quite interesting. The food made me hungry, especially the jollof rice with chicken. I also loved how you noticed the little things around you during your walk. The colorful murals and the roadside food stalls sound lovely. I especially enjoyed the part about the almond tree because childhood memories always bring a special kind of happiness. Sometimes the simplest days give us the most beautiful memories.
