‎
‎My name is Abasi-odiong Udo, ab-rich23 is my username on Steemit platform and I am contestant 4 on the Voice of Steemit 26, Season 2.
‎
‎> The song I sang and why I chose the song
‎
‎The song I sang is titled "From here to the moon and back" by the legendary singer, Dolly Parton.
‎
‎I chose this song because it connects with my experiences lately. I also love the song; the lyrics are beautifully composed and so emotional. The way the singer tells a story through her songs is always mind-blowing. That's why I do listen closely to the lyrics of her songs so that I can feel the emotions and grab the story each song tells. About this one I sang, I love how figurative yet so simple the song is, using nature to describe the power of love. So lovely!
‎
‎> Why I joined this competition, and my view about it?
‎
‎I joined this competition because I love to sing, it's the main reason why I embrace this opportunity of being among the contestants of this year's season. And also, I want to challenge myself and see how far my voice can take me among other talented singers.
‎
‎I'm looking forward to the genuine and constructive criticism from the judges and audience, and I believe the training will be worth my time and it will go a long way to improve my singing skills and to be a better singer than before.
‎
‎> Suggestions for improvement, and a request
‎
‎So far from the introductory post about how the competition will go stage by stage, I think the competition is well organized and very encouraging for those who have passion for singing. My suggestion for improvement to enable a very good outcome of voices and for contestants to be well prepared and confident while recording or on stage, would be, to provide more time for vocal training and rehearsals.
‎
‎Another point is a request, coming to the bilingual stage, where we'll have to sing in languages other than English, can the host help out with options or sources of where to find songs we can choose and how to get the lyrics? This will help make it simple for us during that stage.
‎
‎Also, judges should be experienced individuals in the music field or maybe trained for this purpose, to help them carry on the work perfectly. Judges should also give constructive feedback to contestants to help improve their performance throughout the stages in the competition.
‎
‎On my own part, I'll stay fit to receive all the training, criticism, stay committed and respectful to everyone during these stages, because being under pressure can come with exhaustion and depression which may lead to remorseful words or actions.
