Rare card received: Humpback whale [burnsteem100]

Earlier today, I promoted my post, West Chester Wildlife, September 2026: 5 Bald Eagles and 4 New Species.

Rare tier Humpback Whale collectible card from the animalCards game

Out of curiosity, later, I went to see what animalCards collectible card I received after the transaction. The transaction completed in block #110122053 , and I was happy to see that I received a rare tier mammal card, for the Humpback Whale.

You can check out the animalCards game, here:

Next up for the game development: in the next few weeks I'm going to try increasing the deck size by adding some new cards that haven't been available to collectors in the past (without impacting any past card distributions).

If there are any Steem photographers who would like to have your photographs included in the game, please let me know. Some loosely defined constraints (off the top of my head):

  • Unrestricted usage of the photos must be permitted so that authors can blog about their cards.
  • The photograph's subject needs to be a wild animal that's not in any kind of enclosure.
  • No people (or parts of people, like hands, etc.) should be included in the photograph.
  • Steem-based photos can replace public domain photos in the existing (unstable-test generation) cards or add new species to the deck.
  • I'm not competent to judge photo quality beyond some minimal level, but the photo should not be blurry or badly lit, and the animal should be prominently visible.

The game does suggest setting certain beneficiary percentages to the photographer if an author blogs about their card, so photographers might receive some sort of reward stream. Obviously, this is not guaranteed... it should be thought of like a proposed tip/gratuity.

In this post, since the photo is public domain from iNaturalist (by wilmotsenaratne), I'm not able to set a beneficiary for the photographer. If the photographer had a Steem account, I would have set a 2% beneficiary in this post for a rare tier card.

100% of author rewards are directed to @null.
