Heavy equipment inspection: excavator

  • Hello everyone. Today, I am conducting an inspection of a heavy-duty excavator. Why must every piece of equipment undergo checks? It is to prevent engine failure during operation and, most importantly, to avoid accidents while working. Let’s go through the necessary inspection points together.

  • Physical Condition Check: Inspect the bucket, arm, and boom for cracks and worn or missing bucket teeth, and ensure that pins and bushings are well-lubricated.

  • And here, I found a bucket tooth that has traces of a welded joint.

  • Only one of the three lights is working; two are burnt out. If this isn't repaired soon, the excavator likely won't be able to operate at night.

  • The engine area is secure. Check the engine oil, radiator coolant, and hydraulic oil levels, as well as the water separator and fan belt tension; ensure everything is at the proper level or correctly adjusted.
