Our Surroundings: Let´s Talk About The News

The Bhola district is a name of love in my heart. Just as the natural beauty of this island region surrounded by rivers fascinates me, the development of rural education here always gives me hope. As part of this beautiful competition of the Steemit Engagement Challenge, today I will take you to No. 69 Uttar Chandraprasad Government Primary School, located very close to my village home. This school, located in the Kunjapatti area of ​​Bhola Sadar Upazila, is very familiar to me. For some time now, I have been thinking of visiting the current environment of the school and the educational experience of young children.

School Overview & Personal Observation

Last night, there was heavy rain in our Bhola area. In the morning, when I reached the school on foot after breakfast, I saw the main field of the school and the ups and downs flooded with rainwater. This scene is not new in schools in rural areas, but I think the children's urge to come to school despite the waterlogging is really admirable.

As soon as I entered the school, I met the headmaster, sir. I already knew him. This sir, wearing a beautiful red beard and glasses, is a very humble and affectionate man. As soon as I explained the reason for my visit, he welcomed me with a smile and gave me the opportunity to tour the entire school.

When I entered the classroom and was taking videos and photos, the small children sitting on the red and blue benches were looking at me with curiosity. In my opinion, the innocent look in the children's eyes and their slightly shy posture in front of the camera were the most beautiful moments of the entire visit.

1. What changes have you observed in the educational infrastructure in your community in recent months?

---

In my opinion, there have been quite positive changes in the environment and infrastructure of primary education in our Bhola Sadar area in recent times. Although the building is relatively old, the interior environment is very orderly. I noticed that the classroom walls are decorated with pictures of national intellectuals including Sher-e-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Haque, weekly class routines, and beautiful learning charts. The colorful red-blue benches have made the reading environment of the children more enjoyable.

2. What initiatives have been promoted to improve inclusion and equity in student admissions at educational institutions in your community?

I think free books and stipends are a very effective measure to keep children in rural areas in school. Speaking to the headmaster, I learned that the teachers teach with great compassion and give equal opportunities to everyone so that there is no inferiority complex among children from disadvantaged families.

3. What are the graduation plans for this year's students? What have the graduation celebrations been like in your region?

Farewell and reception ceremonies are planned for the graduating students at the end of the year. According to my observations, these ceremonies in primary schools in our region are not just a formality, but become like a small festival for the entire village people.

4. How has technology impacted teaching practices at local schools? Are there online classes?

---

I think there are still some limitations in the use of technology in rural areas. Although schools are using colorful charts and modern learning guides, the benefits of institutional online classes are not yet fully developed. However, in special situations, teachers and parents maintain personal contact.

5. Has the study of the cryptocurrency market been integrated into education in your region or community? How have students responded to this topic?

---

To my knowledge, cryptocurrency or the digital economy has not yet been included in the national primary education curriculum in our country. Therefore, young primary school students are completely unfamiliar with the subject.

The green trees and natural environment around the school captivated me. Although there was some water on the premises due to the rain, the classrooms were completely dry and safe due to the high foundation of the building. In my opinion, if the drainage system of the playground is slightly improved, children will be able to play comfortably on the premises even on rainy days.

I have recorded a 2-minute and 40-second video to capture the memories and real atmosphere of the visit. In it, I have tried to capture the red brick main gate of the school, the flooded field, the presence of the headmaster, sir, and the beautiful moments of the little students.
