The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is exactly what many Fold fans have been waiting for. The new hinge feels stronger, the crease is less visible than previous generations, and the phone opens and closes with excellent confidence. Even though it weighs around 215g, it feels surprisingly comfortable considering the amount of hardware packed inside. Samsung also keeps the IP48 rating for water and dust resistance, giving users more confidence during everyday use.

The displays are among the best Samsung has ever made. The Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, while the 6.5-inch cover display feels much closer to a normal flagship smartphone. Both screens are brighter than before, reaching impressive outdoor visibility thanks to Samsung's improved anti-reflective coating. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and scrolling feels incredibly smooth. Whether you are multitasking, gaming, reading, or watching movies, the display experience is simply outstanding.

Performance is exactly what you expect from Samsung's flagship foldable. The #Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and fast UFS 4.1 storage, making everything feel effortless. Apps launch instantly, multitasking is incredibly smooth, and demanding games run without any noticeable problems. Samsung has also improved thermal management, allowing the phone to maintain strong performance during longer gaming sessions. Galaxy AI features continue to improve productivity, offering smarter multitasking, live translation, writing assistance, and image editing that fully take advantage of the large foldable display.

The camera system is one of the biggest reasons to choose the Ultra model over the standard Fold8. Samsung includes a flagship 200MP main camera, a new 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The main camera captures excellent detail with vibrant colors and outstanding dynamic range, producing photos that are much closer to the Galaxy S Ultra series than previous Fold models. Portraits look natural, low-light performance is excellent, and video quality remains among the best available on any Android phone. The upgraded ultrawide camera is another welcome improvement. However, the telephoto camera feels like the weakest part of the system. While it performs well enough for everyday photography, many users expected Samsung to include a higher-resolution zoom camera on a phone carrying the Ultra name. Competitors like the Vivo X Fold6 and Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max still offer stronger long-range zoom performance.

Battery life finally receives a noticeable improvement. Samsung increases the battery capacity to 5000mAh, helping the Fold8 Ultra comfortably last a full day even with heavy usage. Combined with the efficient Snapdragon chipset and adaptive refresh rate, battery life is better than previous Fold models. Charging is handled by 45W wired charging alongside wireless and reverse wireless charging. While Samsung still trails Chinese competitors that offer 80W or even 100W charging, the overall battery experience is now much more competitive.

On the software side, the Fold8 Ultra runs One UI 9 based on #Android 17. Samsung continues to offer one of the best software experiences on Android, especially for foldable devices. Split-screen multitasking, floating windows, drag-and-drop support, and Galaxy AI all work together to make the Fold8 Ultra an excellent productivity device. Samsung also promises seven years of Android and security updates, which remains one of the strongest software commitments in the smartphone industry. The only disappointment is the continued lack of S Pen support, which feels strange on a device designed for productivity and carrying the Ultra branding.

It combines an excellent display, flagship performance, meaningful camera upgrades, longer battery life, and industry-leading software support into one polished package. More importantly, it removes many of the compromises that earlier Fold models required users to accept.

If you want Samsung's most advanced #foldable smartphone with flagship cameras, premium build quality, and one of the best multitasking experiences available, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is an easy recommendation. But if your priority is maximum zoom performance, the fastest charging, or the best value for money, competitors from Vivo, Honor, and Oppo still offer stronger hardware in some areas while often costing less.
