Finding Peace in Paws: Simba, Mini, and a Cat-Loving Workplace

In my opinion, pets have an extraordinary way of breaking the monotony of daily life, bringing warmth, peace, and smiles into our routines. To me, out of all animals, cats are the absolute favorite. In fact, I feel cats win over human hearts so effortlessly that it isn't just me—around 6 to 7 of my office colleagues also own pet cats at home and take wonderful care of them.

In Islam, cats hold a deeply respected and loved position. Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us compassion toward animals, declaring cats to be pure animals (Tahoor) that naturally dwell among humans. History recalls the famous Sahabi Abdur Rahman, whom the Prophet (PBUH) affectionately nicknamed Abu Hurairah (meaning Father of Kittens) due to his deep love for a kitten. I believe the historical account of the Prophet (PBUH) cutting his own robe rather than disturbing a sleeping cat rests as a beautiful testament to caring for animals.

Inspired by this beautiful teaching of Islam and the cat-loving environment around me, I am sharing the stories of my two beloved cats in today's post—Simba, the mischievous cat from our office, and Mini, the quiet cat from my home.

🐱 Two Cats, Double the Joy: Simba & Mini

In my opinion, there is no animal quite as affectionate and clean as a cat. I believe caring for them brings not only mental peace but also fulfills a deep human and spiritual duty. While I love both of my cats equally, their roles in my everyday life are uniquely different.

• Simba (The Adventurous Office Mascot): Simba is a handsome ginger-and-white (orange and white) cat who has turned our entire office building into his personal playground. Besides keeping our workspace clean and free of pests, he has a delightfully naughty side!

• Mini (The Gentle Home Companion): Mini is a pure white, peaceful cat who is my constant companion at home, often sitting right beside me at the dining table.

Together, these two cats make up the most wonderful pet experience of my life.

Simba’s Daily Antics: The Building's Favorite Wanderer

To me, Simba’s mischievous habits are pure joy to watch. He is fiercely independent and loves exploring new places! Quite often, he wanders off to other floors and steps right into neighboring offices. I noticed that people on other floors love him just as much as we do; whenever he visits their desks, everyone takes care of him and gives him food.

Caring for Simba on our floor is a sweet team effort. I find it heartwarming that since 6 to 7 of my colleagues own cats at home, our entire office team treats Simba with genuine affection. My office boss kindly brings fresh food for him every single day, and I always try my best to bring him his favorite treats whenever I can.

The Backpack Mattress: Whenever someone leaves a laptop bag or backpack on the floor, Simba instantly claims it as his personal mattress for a cozy nap.

The Executive Chair: If an office chair is left empty, he uses his impressive jumping skills to hop right up and stretch out lazily like he owns the workplace.

Work Supervisor: During busy work discussions near our desks, Simba quietly sits right at our feet, watching us with curiosity while keeping us company.

Healthcare & Vaccination

In my opinion, a crucial aspect of properly caring for and loving pets is ensuring their health and well-being. Alhamdulillah, both of my cats have been vaccinated on schedule. Furthermore, whenever they face any health issues or require urgent attention, we receive prompt and excellent service from a nearby pet care center, which gives us great peace of mind.

Why My Cats Mean So Much to Me

Working long office hours can often become tiring, but seeing Simba return from his building tours to ask for affection beside my chair or curl up on my bag makes me feel like all my stress disappears in an instant. And when I return home, Mini is there to welcome me in her own silent, loving way.

In my opinion, true humanity lies in treating innocent animals with love, patience, and care. Even though they live in two different parts of my daily routine, both Simba and Mini hold an irreplaceable place in my heart.
