Serie A After Six Rounds: Two Leaders, Many Questions
Hello to all Steem friends and to everyone in the Steem Venezuela community. I hope you are doing well.
Six rounds into the 2026–27 Serie A season, the table is beginning to take shape, but nothing has been decided yet. Inter and Lazio are level at the top on 16 points, while Roma have fallen slightly behind after a frustrating 0–0 draw in Como.
Inter’s 3–0 win over Parma was the clearest statement of the round. Petar Sučić, Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Marcus Thuram scored within the first 31 minutes, giving the Nerazzurri full control before half-time. They now have 18 goals in six matches, but what impressed me most was how quickly they removed any doubt about the result.
Lazio are sharing the lead in a different way. Nuno Tavares and Gustav Isaksen put them 2–0 up against Monza, and although Monza were reduced to ten men, Lazio still managed the game well. Their defence has conceded only four goals so far, and that solidity could become their biggest strength.
Roma will see the draw in Como as a missed opportunity. Donyell Malen’s red card changed the match, forcing Roma to defend for long periods. They kept a clean sheet, but they will need to turn these difficult afternoons into wins if they want to stay in the title race.
Cagliari are one of the surprises so far. Daniel Maldini put them ahead against Juventus, and although Randal Kolo Muani equalised, the point kept Cagliari on 13 points. Napoli also returned to winning ways with a 3–0 victory over Frosinone, with Kevin De Bruyne scoring twice.
At the other end of the table, the pressure is already growing. Venezia are still without a point, while Udinese have lost four matches in a row after a promising start. Genoa and Bologna, meanwhile, picked up important wins that could help them build momentum.
The next round will give us more clues. Inter visit Bologna, Roma host Genoa and Napoli travel to Venezia. None of these matches will decide the season, but they will show which teams can repeat their best performances.
For me, the most interesting thing about this sixth matchday is that Serie A has leaders, but nobody can relax yet. Inter and Lazio are setting the pace, Roma remain close, Cagliari refuse to go away and Napoli are finding their rhythm again.
