My Life with Goat: Happy Memories

Hello, I'm @toufiq777

I hope everyone is doing well; I am also fine by the grace of God.

Goats have always been my favorite pets. I have liked them since childhood, though the decision to actually raise one at home didn't happen overnight. In fact, my family wasn't very keen on keeping pets—especially goats—because raising them is quite demanding; they require a separate shelter, which we didn't have at the time. Eventually, my father built a shed for a goat, and I am currently raising a large one.

My love for goats stems from my grandmother, who used to raise them at home. She had quite a few goats. I was very young back then, so I couldn't raise them myself, but I learned the basics of goat rearing from her. Goats are gentle domestic animals, and raising them is cost-effective. It has been a year since I started raising goats for both a hobby and a business venture.

I took a photo standing in front of a goat.

My journey into goat rearing didn't start smoothly. I initially bought a goat, but it died after two or three months. This led my family to advise against raising goats, as I had lost about 15,000 Taka. Later, I convinced my parents to let me buy another one—a black male goat. I have been raising this goat for three months now.

I feed the goat grass and jackfruit leaves; I sometimes buy jackfruit leaves from the market. The goat recognizes when I come to feed it. In the mornings, I go to my shop, so I tie the goat up next to the shop. The goat has to be kept tethered; otherwise, it wanders into neighbors' fields and damages their crops. Since I am at the shop in the mornings, I keep the goat tied up. In the afternoon, when I am free, I take it to the field to graze.

It brings me joy to have the opportunity to raise this goat with my family's approval. Caring for the goat during my spare time keeps me occupied. When I go to the field to play, I take the goat along; it grazes while I play sports. I return home at dusk. Feeding the goat isn't much trouble, and I can raise it at a low cost. The goat is always by my side.

As soon as the shop door was closed, the goat was ready to go home with me.

My parents have also grown fond of the goat now, though they don't look after it themselves; I handle all the care. My parents give me money, which I use to buy feed for the goat. Today, while returning from the shop, I brought the goat home. It was raining outside, so I brought it inside and tethered it on the ground floor.

As it was drizzling outside, I tied the goat underneath the house.

Greetings, friend @toufiq777.

I have read posts from various users, and most tend to prefer pets like dogs and cats; however, your post really resonated with me. It is wonderful that your favorite pet is a goat a passion that began because your beloved grandmother used to raise them. You grew so fond of them that your father even built a secure enclosure for the goat you currently own. You consider them docile creatures that are very economical and easy to raise.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the platform's audience.

Good luck.
