Shopping Contest: My Shopping :- My Experience W-1
🌑HELLO DEAR STEEMIAN FRIENDS"
How is everyone doing? I begin in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I welcome you all to this milestone journey on the Steemit platform. First and foremost, I would like to thank you, @jimiaera02. I am truly grateful for the opportunity you provided—leveraging your impressive skills and excellent shopping expertise—to explore shopping options within a specific budget. Thank you once again!
Shopping is an essential part of our daily lives—a necessary routine to sustain our families and meet our basic needs, such as food. This is a task that recurs on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. I generally prefer to purchase dry food items, cosmetics, and other daily necessities from 'Mizan Center Confectionery & Medicine Corner.' It is conveniently located near my home, allowing me to quickly pick up the items I need. As for fresh produce—such as vegetables—I usually buy them from a nearby market or from vendors on three-wheeled carts; I prefer to purchase these fresh on a daily basis. Other items, including biscuits, dry snacks, and various household essentials, are typically purchased on a weekly or monthly schedule.
For my household essentials and items preferred by my family members, I generally shop at local markets, grocery stores, or confectionery shops. Occasionally, I also order certain clothing items online after selecting them. However, when it comes to daily shopping, I would like to take you to Mizan Center Confectionery & Medicine Corner.
I purchase essential household items based on my family's needs. Rather than buying everything at once, I prefer to shop periodically—for instance, picking up certain dry food items on a weekly basis. Additionally, I visit the local market daily to ensure I get fresh produce. For bulkier staples like rice and lentils, I try to make those purchases once a month. Overall, however, I prefer to shop a little bit every day; this approach allows me to take advantage of price fluctuations, as some items can occasionally be found at lower prices.
I enjoy shopping for daily essentials. I also need to purchase various necessary items for myself and my family, such as dry food supplies. However, current market prices are much higher than before; it seems as though the cost of everything has gone up by 10 to 20 taka.
| Product | Previous price | current price | steem |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paseta ৫০০g | 120 | 140 | 20.46 |
| Muri Toast 300g | 80 | 90 | 13.16 |
| Cool saving foam 200g | 280 | 322 | 47.11 |
| Fogg body spray | 350 | 494 | 72.29 |
| Roma biscuits | 60 | 80 | 11.70 |
| Nestle coffee 200g | 620 | 830 | 121.39 |
| Kolson semai 200g | 70 | 80 | 11.70 |
| Lux soup 190g | 55 | 65 | 9.50 |
| Wheel powder 1kg | 135 | 165 | 24.13 |
| Total | 1770 tk | 2266 | 331.08 |
These specific items previously cost 1,770 Taka (equivalent to 258.88 STEEM), but at the current market rate, they cost 2,266 Taka (equivalent to 331.08 STEEM). I now have to pay 496 Taka more than the previous price to purchase these items—a significant additional expense for me. In general, the prices of daily necessities in Bangladesh have risen sharply. This situation, and the resulting hardship for the average person, has been driven by substantial salary increases for government employees.
I purchased these specific items from Mizan Confectionery & Medicine Corner. Since it is located close to my home, it is very convenient for me to shop there. Moreover, I can complete my shopping quite quickly, as it is rarely crowded.
Essentially, this is a confectionery shop where, in addition to various types of biscuits and specialty dry food items, one can also purchase staples like rice and lentils. I chose to shop here—and specifically selected this confectionery—because buying everything in one place helps me save time.
For this particular shopping trip, I took 2,000 Taka (at a Steem price of 305) in my wallet. However, as the prices of the items had increased, I ended up bringing the goods home with an outstanding balance of 266 Taka. I returned later that evening to pay the remaining amount. At first, it felt as though I had exceeded my budget; but upon reviewing the current prices against the previous ones, I realized that my initial assessment had been correct—it was simply that the costs of the necessary items had gone up.
Yes, I always try to save a little money—perhaps 10 to 20 taka—by bargaining. However, there are certain shops where bargaining isn't possible; for instance, in some confectionery stores, items are sold strictly at the prices marked on the packaging. Among the things I like to buy is Fogg body spray, which is sold at a fixed price. Honestly, picking up items I enjoy while out shopping is a truly fun and delightful experience. Furthermore, whenever something new hits the market, I often feel inclined to buy and try it out, just to see what it’s like and whether it’s worth using.
However, most of the time, I feel quite comfortable bargaining—whether it’s for vegetables sold from a van, or at specialty grocery stores, as well as at shops selling chicken, meat, and fish.
I shop at this store quite often—I’ve made many purchases here before, and the location is provided. However, I had never bought coffee here until now. I decided to give it a try, but—ironically—there was a large hole at the bottom of the cup. As soon as I poured the coffee into it, the entire contents leaked straight out through the bottom. I happened to be talking to someone at the time; when I picked up the cup a moment later, I realized there wasn’t a single drop of coffee left inside. I found the whole situation quite amusing, even though, in the end, it was my own loss!
When shopping at this confectionery store, I look for items that have their expiry dates clearly marked; I always check these dates to ensure the products are still valid and to see how long they will remain good. This helps me decide which items to purchase. Furthermore, the store frequently offers special deals on various products. Another great convenience is the availability of multiple payment options—including online payments, mobile services like bKash, Nagad, and Rocket, as well as card payments—which makes the shopping experience very smooth. I also keep an eye out for promotional offers, such as "buy three, get one free." Overall, this is an excellent place for regular shopping; it allows me to quickly pick up everything I need and get back home in no time.
For future shopping, I will make sure to carry more money than my planned budget, as I prefer not to be in debt to anyone. Additionally, I will keep an eye out for special offers and see if any new items are available at promotional prices. I will also try to purchase discounted goods in advance whenever possible.
Moreover, I observed that the shopkeeper’s behavior was good, and the two young men working there were also very polite. That said, I believe it is best to shop within one’s budget. Once the essentials have been purchased, one might consider buying items for personal enjoyment if funds allow. Furthermore, it is crucial to verify the prices of products and check that they have a valid expiration date. Additionally, one should pay close attention to special offers or discounted items.
