Diary Game cooking pumpkin (aṅu and yam) 17/08/2026
Cooked Aṅu today
@alvira-202
Anu is cooked with yam and is very delicious.
So I woke up today feeling the need to eat something different from rice and the rest so I wamt to the market and picked up a large pumpkin called Anu in my place.
Over here, we make anu with yam, potatoes, or even plantain. Another local dishe I love is Akidi but that's story for another day guysssss 🤭

So the image up there is after boiling the yam and pumpkin.
You need to put the pumpkin in the water first and wait until it get soft then you add your yam
When it gets soft you bring it down and remove the water... but that's not the end 😕
You still have work to do.
Put the pumpkin and yam in the sink or a bowl if available and start the work.
The work is not much. Just peel the yam (i love peeling my yam after boiling it... I know some people peel theirs before boiling but it's a thing of choice right?)
So you remove the back of the pumpkin soand your area will look as messy as that...
After peeling the back of the yam and pumpkin we start our cooking porridge.
We put the pumpkin and yam back in the pot

Now you put your palm oil... it's gotten from the palm tree. By grinding the palm fruits we get palm oil. So we use this oil for the food.
We put in our ingredients. Crayfish, salt, seasoning and the rest.
Then you put it back on the fire and stir.

After all the work... food is ready 😋 🙌
Let's feasting our local dish
