• I hope you are all doing well. Today I would like to share my thoughts and views on the topic. That is deeply connected to our lives our futures and our livelihoods. The topic is: Degree versus Skill. Which has proven more beneficial in today's world? In my opinion this is not merely a question of choosing between education and work. It is also an opportunity to reflect on how one can lead a better life by effectively utilizing one's talents. We often assume that success will automatically come our way. Once we obtain a good degree. But the reality of practical life is not always so straightforward. Today many educated individuals are searching for job opportunities. While numerous skilled people are earning a living. And supporting their families through their craft. I am personally associated with the field of teaching and am benefiting from my education. At the same time I possess various skills such as cooking sewing writing art etc. That is why I view this topic not just from a theoretical standpoint. But also through the lens of practical life experiences.

◉What do you understand by both terms. Kindly define "Degree" & "Skill". ◉

In my view both a degree and a skill play significant roles in a person's life. Yet they differ in nature and utility.

A degree is a qualification awarded after completing formal education at an academic institution. It serves as proof that an individual has studied a specific subject or field. A degree enhances one's knowledge. Broadens one's perspective. And aids in understanding and analyzing various topics. Many professions such as teaching medicine and engineering require. Specific educational qualifications and formal professional training.

On the other hand a skill refers to the ability proficiency and competence to perform a task practically. Skills are not limited to knowledge gained from books. They are developed through practice experience hard work observation and continuous learning. Cooking tailoring embroidery art writing computer proficiency. And providing various services are examples of skills. I believe that while a degree provides a structured path to acquiring knowledge. A skill enables an individual to apply that knowledge and ability in practical life.

It is important to note that obtaining a degree. And actually knowing how to perform a task are two different things. A person may hold a prestigious degree. Yet face difficulties in securing employment if they lack practical experience and the ability to execute the work. Conversely a skilled individual. Even without a high level degree it can be established. A reputation through their competence hard work and quality of output. To me true success lies not merely in obtaining a certificate. But in applying one's knowledge and abilities positively in life.

If I answer by keeping the conditions employment opportunities and financial autonomy in front of today. Then for me skill gives man more practical opportunities to generate his income. And stand on his own feet. We see around us that many young people are waiting for proper jobs. Even after getting higher education. He spends many years studying and taking exams. And completing his degree. But after completing his education. He does not get work according to his qualifications. In this situation it may be difficult for them to meet their expenses. And participate in the financial responsibilities of the family. On the contrary if a person learns a usable skill. He can start his work on a small scale. For example a woman who knows sewing can earn income by sewing clothes from home. A person who specializes in cooking can start preparing food at home or on order. A person who knows art can sell his creations. While a person who is skilled in writing or computer work can also provide online services. When given the right opportunities. These examples show that talent also gives a person the ability to create work. Opportunities for himself instead of just waiting for a job. Education is also important in my own experience. I am teaching and my education is benefiting me in this field. I value education but still I believe that if a person has any additional practical skills along with education. There can be more ways for him to move forward in different situations. According to me the greatest quality of skill is that man can convert his ability into practical work. It is not necessary that everyone is involved in a big job or organization. He can also start on a small scale according to his ability. And improve his work with experience. However I also understand that hard work quality consistency. And opportunities are necessary to earn income from skill. It is not enough to learn skills alone. It is also important to improve and use it properly.

◉If you were asked to drop one, which would you drop and why?◉

This is a difficult question for me. Because I do not deny the importance of education and am also benefiting from my own education. But if I have to choose either of them. I will prefer the skill over the degree and choose to leave the degree. The main reason for this is that. I consider the practical situation of employment in the present era very important. Just getting a degree today is not a guarantee that a person will get a good job immediately. Many educated people keep looking for jobs according to their ability. While many skilled people find ways to earn income through their work. According to me financial independence is very important in human life. Everyone wants to fulfill their needs and help their parents or children. And not have to depend on others completely in difficult times.

If a person has a skill that people need. He can try to create work opportunities for himself with his hard work and ability. For example if a woman gets sewing. She can work according to her convenience while staying at home. She may have the opportunity to work according to her circumstances. And over time she can improve her skills. Similarly work opportunities can be found through cooking, art or any other useful ability. I would not like to leave the degree. Because education is useless. But because if the choice is only for one thing and the quality is practical employment and independence. Then my priority will be skill. I also believe that the importance of a degree in every field is not the same. In some professions it is not possible to work. Without formal education and relevant qualifications. But in many other fields practical skills experience quality of work. And trust of people play an important role in success. My message is that a person should not only focus his full attention on obtaining a degree. But he must also learn a skill that can be of use to him in the future. Because conditions can change. Jobs may be lost and opportunities may decrease. But the learned ability can be continuously improved. And reused opportunities can be created.

◉Do you strongly believe in having both? If yes/no, give your reasons.◉

According to me the best situation is that a person has both degrees and skills. Because both can increase the usefulness of each other. However if a person does not have the resources or opportunities to get a degree. He should not think that the doors of success are closed to him. A degree helps to improve a person's knowledge thinking and professional ability. On the other hand. Talent enables a person to work practically. Solve problems and take advantage of his abilities. For example if a teacher has good teaching skills along with relevant education. She can teach students better. Similarly if a businessman knows his field. And has the ability to do practical work. He can run his business better. I am teaching myself and I am benefiting from my education. So I can't say that a degree is of no importance. But I must say that a person should not be satisfied with his degree alone. It should also continue to improve its practical skills.

In today's age people need people who not only have theoretical knowledge but can also do the work well. A document is important in its place. But it is also very important to perform a task with responsibility ability and good quality. *** To me the best combination of degree and talent makes a person stronger. But lack of talent cannot be met by a degree alone***. If a person's circumstances do not allow him to pursue higher education. He should learn a useful skill according to his interest and resources rather than despair. Starting on a small scale can also be a good start. Similarly educated people should also gain practical experience. With their education learn new skills and improve themselves according to the changing conditions. Therefore I consider both important. But my priority in terms of employment. And financial autonomy is practical skills.

◉My opinion and closing message.◉

I would like to say that success should not be measured by the number of degrees alone. The true value of a person is shown by his knowledge of hard work. Ability and how he uses his abilities. A degree can make you educated. But practical skills can give you opportunities to take advantage of your talent. We should not only tell children and youth to get a good degree. But also teach them to learn some useful skills. Recognize your ability work hard and improve yourself with time. I want skilled people to be respected in our society. If a person sews cooks crafts makes art or provides any other service. His hard work is worth it. One should not underestimate any work. Because it is a matter of pride to earn a halal livelihood by working with dignity. My final position is that the degree is important. But the skill cannot be neglected. If I have to choose between the two. I will choose the talent. Because I consider it an effective means of gaining independence in practical life.
