For The Broken Pieces , You Are Not Too Far Gone

Many years ago, I knew a man who sat with me one quiet evening. He looked so tired down to his soul.

He said to me,
“I don’t think God can forgive me.”

I asked him,
“What makes you so sure?”

He shook his head and said,
“If you know the things I have done, you will understand.”

I looked at him and said,
“God already knows. There is nothing you are hiding from Him.”

He stayed quiet, then said in a low voice, “But I feel ashamed. I can’t even pray.”

I told him, “You were once a baby, naked before your earthly father, and you were not ashamed. You cried freely and came just as you were. Why then are you hiding from your Creator, the One who knew you before you were even formed, the One who knows your end from the beginning?”

I continued, “Think about Saul. He hunted Christians, destroyed lives, yet God still found him and changed his story. Think about David. He made serious mistakes, yet God still called him a man after His heart. So who told you that your own case is too much?”

I leaned closer and said, “Jesus did not come for people who have it all together.
He came for people like you. That guilt you carry, He already paid for it. That shame you feel, He already saw it and still chose you. You don’t need to fix yourself before coming. Come with the broken pieces. Come with the regret.
That is exactly why He died, so you will not carry it alone.”

While his eyes were getting wet, He looked at me and whispered, “So I can still come like this?” I said, “Yes, just like this.”

That night, I told him, “If your heart is ready, i can lead you to Him in a very simple way and he obliged.

Say, Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned. I cannot save myself. I believe You died for me and rose again. Please forgive me, come into my life, and help me follow You.”

He said those words quietly and I can boldly tell you that something shifted immediately.

If you are reading this and you feel like that man, this is me talking to you now. You are not too far gone. If God could reach Saul and turn him into Paul, if He could restore David, then He can reach you too, If He could restore Thyabiodun who was a rejected stone, don’t wait and don’t hide.

Come as you are now and speak to Him now. He is listening.
