Rewards Calculations
I had a $6.57 reward for the penultimate post i made. I figured as I had close to 2,900 staked Steem I would reach my 3,000 staked Steem goal and would be able to take things easier due to not having the goal headache.
To my surprise what I got was about 65 Steem which is not enough to reach my goal. I really though $6.57 in $ would be more than 150 Steem, obviously I was mistaken, it is not even half of that. As that figure includes some curation rewards I actually got less than 60 Steem for that post. Better said I got Steem at about 10 cents each.
The only reason I can see for this is if its an average of previous prices. But if this is so, to get this average it must go a long way back in tine because Steem was at 10 cents quite a while back and to make it average 10 cents you have to go even further back.
Now, I am not complaining, things are what they are and we can't change this. But I really would like to know how this is figured, just for the knowledge. I can ask AI, but AI has a way of complicating things, so if anyone reading this knows how this is calculated, can you please enlighten me? I think I will reach 3,000 before August is over so my worries will be over in a few days.

It's because the price of STEEM is below the haircut price (~$0.104). Payouts are reporting wrong.
Roughly, to get the actual payout, the value shown needs to be multiplied by the 3-day average STEEM price divided by the haircut price (i.e. ~0.04/0.104).
The reported price is only accurate when the STEEM price is above the haircut price.
Ok, I think I understand. Thanks
