Digital Art | The Dark Witch and the Forbidden Book 📖

Good afternoon, my dearest #Steemit readers! Happy Tuesday to everyone—I hope you’re having a wonderful day. It’s your friend Manuel here, and I’m really excited to bring you a new #steemexclusive digital illustration that I finished a couple of days ago to share on my blog. This time, I wanted to immerse myself in the world of magic and sorcery. I came up with this character: a dark witch who, throughout her life, has dedicated herself to seeking out and learning everything related to magic until she achieves ultimate power. In her quest, she came across a mysterious book that, according to legend, was written by the first wizard in history—though not everyone will be able to control its terrible power.

Muy buenas tardes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de #Steemit, feliz martes para todos, espero que estén teniendo un excelente día. Por aquí los saluda su amigo Manuel, muy emocionado de traerles una nueva ilustración digital #steemexclusive que terminé hace un par de días para compartir en mi blog. En esta ocasión, quise sumergirme en el mundo de la magia y la hechicería. Se me ocurrió inventarme este personaje: una bruja oscura que a lo largo de su vida se ha dedicado a buscar y aprender todo lo relacionado con la magia hasta lograr el poder máximo. En su búsqueda, se encontró con un misterioso libro que, según cuenta la leyenda, fue escrito por el primer mago de la historia, aunque no todos podrán controlar su terrible poder.

PROCESS / PROCESO

For the concept and lore behind this piece, I wanted to capture her ambitious and mysterious personality. I portrayed the dark witch turning back over her shoulder with a confident, cunning expression, wearing a classic large witch hat while holding the ancient, glowing tome in her hand. Her glowing purple eyes and dark hair add to her aura of forbidden knowledge.

Para el concepto y la historia detrás de esta pieza, quise capturar su personalidad ambiciosa y misteriosa. Retraté a la bruja oscura girando la mirada sobre su hombro con una expresión segura y astuta, luciendo un sombrero de bruja clásico y grande mientras sostiene el antiguo y brillante tomo en sus manos. Sus ojos de un brillo púrpura y su cabello oscuro intensifican su aura de conocimiento prohibido.

For the composition and lighting, I set the scene in a dark, atmospheric background where the primary light source radiates directly from the magical pages of the open book and her intense glowing eyes. This vibrant pinkish-magenta glow washes over her face, robes, and hat, casting sharp highlights and creating a dramatic contrast against the deep shadows surrounding her.

Para la composición y la iluminación, ambienté la escena en un fondo oscuro y atmosférico donde la fuente de luz principal radia directamente de las páginas mágicas del libro abierto y de sus intensos ojos brillantes. Este vibrante resplandor rosa-magenta ilumina su rostro, sus ropas y su sombrero, proyectando reflejos definidos y creando un contraste dramático contra las profundas sombras que la rodean.

For the final details, I worked carefully on rendering the smooth shading of her skin, the texture of her dark outfit, and the ethereal glow coming from the mystical book pages. I also polished the highlights on her hair and hat to complete the magical atmosphere. Bringing this dark sorceress and her legendary tome to life was an incredible creative project!

Para los detalles finales, trabajé cuidadosamente en el sombreado suave de su piel, la textura de su atuendo oscuro y el resplandor etéreo proveniente de las páginas del libro místico. También pulí los brillos en su cabello y su sombrero para completar la atmósfera mágica. ¡Darle vida a esta hechicera oscura y a su legendario tomo fue un proyecto creativo increíble!
