"When peacocks are seen in the fields"

he peacock is renowned worldwide for its beauty, grandeur, and captivating dances. Whenever peacocks are spotted in rural areas or amidst farmlands—displaying a blend of blue and green hues against the backdrop of lush green fields while dancing with their plumage spread wide—they truly mesmerize the observer. There is an age-old bond between peacocks and farmlands; they frequently visit the fields during the harvest season or the monsoon. In the morning, as dew drops glisten on the grass and crops, peacocks often venture into the fields to forage for grains and insects. This sight further enhances the simplicity and beauty of rural life.
When the sky rumbles at the sight of dark clouds, peacocks spread their plumage and begin to dance. If this happens in a lush green field, the spectacle becomes truly magical. While their long, colorful feathers and graceful, swaying movements are a delight to behold, peacocks are also genuine friends to farmers. They feed on various harmful insects, caterpillars, and small creatures found in the fields, thereby unknowingly protecting the crops from pests. Furthermore, the presence of peacocks in and around farmlands helps maintain ecological balance. Today, however, the natural habitat of peacocks is under threat due to modernization, deforestation, and the excessive use of pesticides. The heavy spraying of chemical agents on crops often adversely affects their health. Therefore, it is our moral responsibility to protect our national bird and its natural way of life, ensuring that future generations can also witness them dancing in the fields.
