For My Inktober 2026: 11/10: Rescue
Hello everyone. Trust you are doing great and enjoying the month of October.
Today, for the day 18th, I would love to introduce to you my drawing for 11th October 2026. It's a drawing of a helicopter drawing to a lift man on ground.
I made this drawing using a blue ballpoint pen because a recent drawing with a ballpoint pen kind of captivated me. The drawing literally took most of my time but at least I'm happy to have been able to finish it up before midnight.
And the beautiful thing about this drawing is that I tried as much as possible to make it look as realistic as possible.
What inspired me concerning this drawing was the daily issue or the daily activities of the Navy base that is just a stone's throw from my area. That inspired my drawing because I most, like, every day, though not consistently, but like, maybe because I don't know the timeline of the activities, but I know that yesterday I saw a helicopter having a man sitting close to the door, and with a rope like this, very visible from the helicopter, and they are not far up. It was like they were doing a drill.
The two helicopters were flying in perfect synchronization with one another. I understood that they were practicing how to rescue people or how to save people from danger, based on the recent videos I have seen and I also managed to video the air activities as of yesterday.
So this is what actually inspired my drawing. And I hope you like the drawing. But in all things, it's an amazing thing to spend time making your imaginations come to life by putting it down on a paper.
Here are my progress shots
Step one:
I started by carefully drawing the tail of the helicopter. Making sure everything will be in perfect sync.
Step two:
I completely outlined the helicopter and everything looked quite in perfect shape.
Step three:
I started my shading and completed it using my blue ballpoint pen.
Step four:
I partly draw a building, a walk way, a streetlight and a zebra cross sign on the road. I lightly shaded the building. I draw two human shaped illustration beside the shop and a rope getting to them from the helicopter.
Thank you very much for stopping by to see my post. Have to say and done. Bye for now.

So, this helicopter isn't going anywhere now? :)
I guess that's how hungry pilots restock their hot dog supplies... great concept and artwork!
