Set boundaries ?
For the past two weeks, I've been hearing a lot about boundaries, setting boundaries, or having some boundaries. About two days ago, I saw a video on Instagram where a mother was talking about her child's behaviour with people. She was saying that her child knows who to talk to and who to touch. She even said that her child doesn't like it when someone calls her by a nickname. She said that she has some boundaries, she knows who her close people are. As another mother had a story about her grandmother telling her child about a neighbor who used to come to her house and the women of their house would sneak away, even the children, he didn't like the children to play outside for long. He would even scold them sometimes. After the story, the mother said that her child asked her grandmother why she let him come to her place and how he scolded the child? He wasn't from your family, even though he was still there, he couldn't control your family.
I totally agree with both the kids. They have boundaries, which is fine. This generation knows who to talk to and how to talk and where to back off. And I think that is very important in this generation. In this day and age, you can’t actually trust anyone, even your own family. This world is becoming a curse for us now. There are many cases in our daily life that we come across where someone is harassed, misrepresented, and even worse. So for now it is better to take care of yourself, not some uncle of your neighbours. Right now, big no.
Today, while I was sitting with my aunt and we were talking about the past, she told me many stories from her childhood, how she used to play with others, how the doors of those houses where never closed, anyone could step inside and they could all go to someone's house, and play until the sun went down. She told me that, back then, without mobile phones, we used to play a lot, and we had many things to do. Yet now we have many things to do besides the phone. She was telling me all the stories when her old housekeeper came. They were both talking. When she went back, my aunt told me about her, and told me that she was her old maid who used to wash clothes in their old house. She said that she still came to my house to visit me.
For me, it was pleasant. We need to set boundaries, not so much that we lose people.

I agree with that. Setting boundaries in this era is a must because there are so many things that affect us, and sometimes we realize their impact only when it’s too late. Having boundaries can protect us from so many things while also helping us become more aware of ourselves.
