REVIEW#05: NOTES FROM THE LAST ROW

If you want to experience suspense and plot twists done right, then "Notes from the Last Row" is definitely worth watching.
I just finished it, and honestly, I'm still trying to process what I watched. It's a Korean drama with only 6 episodes, released on Netflix on June 26, 2026. The genres include psychological thriller, mystery, suspense, and drama.
I came across a couple of reels about it and decided to watch it on a whim. Since it only had six episodes, I ended up finishing the entire series in one sitting.
The story follows a literature professor who became famous after writing a successful novel. However, after that, he completely loses his inspiration and is unable to write another book for the next 20 years. Watching his fellow professor become a celebrated author only makes his frustration worse. To make things even more painful, the woman he loved during his university days eventually marries that same colleague.

As a literature professor, he gives his students creative writing assignments, secretly hoping that their ideas might spark his own creativity. One day, he comes across a student's story that genuinely fascinates him. He starts inviting the student for additional discussions, and little by little, he begins finding inspiration again.
However, the story is far more complex than this simple summary makes it sound. I don't want to spoil anything because the real magic of this series lies in discovering its twists for yourself. Every reveal changes the way you look at the story, and that's exactly what makes it so compelling.
From that point onward, the story takes one unexpected turn after another. Every time I thought I had figured something out, another twist completely changed everything. The plot keeps unfolding in ways you don't expect, and until the very last episode, I genuinely couldn't predict where it was heading or what the real purpose behind the story was.
The psychological tension, mystery, and constant uncertainty are what make this drama so engaging. It keeps you questioning every character and every event, making it impossible to guess what will happen next.
Overall, I wouldn't say it's a perfect drama, but it was definitely a fascinating watch. If you're someone who enjoys psychological thrillers, mysteries, and stories full of unpredictable plot twists, then I highly recommend giving "Notes from the Last Row" a chance. Just be prepared you'll probably spend the entire series trying to figure it out, only for the ending to surprise you anyway.
