Moroccan Figs : The sweetest I have ever had in my life!
Greetings of the day beautiful people of Steemit Iron Chef!
Finally after so long, I am having some free time to write a post in this lovely community I started back in 2021!
More than 5 years since SIC was born!
Yeah...time flies and I am still around!
I actually have a lot to post on my blog!
My phone is full of amazing photos to share from our recent family trip to Morocco, where I visited a lot of different cities around the country!
Each city got its own charm, food and culture and will be sharing the maximum I can in the coming days!
Let's start with this one and have the pleasure showing you the sweetest figs I ever had in my life
But before that, I would like to say a special hello and big thanks to @dasudi and her team who are wonderfully taking care of SIC!
Moroccan Figs - The Sweetest of all!
Black and Green Beauties on the street of Casablanca!
We stayed in Casablanca during the first week of our holiday trip.
We arrived on the 15th of July and got to enjoy these delicious fruits right from the street near our apartment!
Not expensive at all compared to the price in my country!
I met a nice guy selling these figs daily at the same spot and bought quite some kilos of these!
The time I was in Morocco was exactly the figs season. I was kind of lucky!
A kilo of the green ones was around 2usd while the black ones were around 4usd per kilo.
In my country, only 4pcs cost around 4usd!
So really cheap for me when compared to what I pay in my country!
Abundance of Figs!
This was my third trip to Morocco and each time I visited, I have always seen abundance of fruits and veggies all around!
And every time I have tasted the figs over there, they have always been soooo sweet! Like honey literally!
If only I had such a product on hands here in my country, I would surely feature them on my menu!
The Green were sweeter...
If you ask me for my favorite one between the black and green, I will say the green ones!!!
Despite that the green ones are cheaper, they are much sweeter than the black ones!
But they both are amazing though!
In my country figs are very rare to find and we mainly import them from other countries.
How about you? Do you have figs in your country?
Which varieties? Do you like eating them?
Share some of the recipe we can make with figs in the comments below.
Looking forward to read from you.
Wish you well.
Until another foodie post.
Best Regards

Saludos chef!!
