The Map Doesn’t Have to Disappear!!! Major Updates on WorldBites by Steemit!

(The Map on WorldBites - Loading up with Steem Atlas Post!)

---

Hey Steemians,

Last night and whole day today, I kept on think about Steem Atlas Shutting Down!

Then I read comments here and there, many people are so sad about this closure!

The the feeling of opening a map and seeing posts pinned from people all over the world. Steem Atlas felt alive. Like Steem had a place.

I also read the post of my friend @pennsif / @steem-atlas ...thanks for the mention my friend!

Then I looked at WorldBites and thought… why let that disappear?

So I opened the doors a bit wider.

Check below all the recent developments and updates on WorldBites!

WorldBites started as a place for restaurant reviews and home cooked meals.

That part is still there.

But now you can also just write blogs.

A food blog, a recipe, a story, a random thought, a travel - or anything else you feel like sharing.

And it gets pinned on the map.

And more....

• When you open the site, the map is the first thing you see.

• Click the header and you’re home.

• Food Blog is ready by default. You can still switch to a review if you want.

We’re also bringing over posts from Steem Atlas.

Any post tagged #steem-atlas that has a location shows up on the same map.

When you click a pin, it opens right here on WorldBites first - clean and simple.

If you want to see the original on Steemit, the link is there. Your old posts don’t have to vanish.

A few other things got cleaner today :

• Only the #worldbites tag is added automatically. You choose the rest.
• Video upload works for both reviews and food blogs.
• Post cards open properly and stay open. Past-payout posts no longer show an upvote button.
• Comments can include photos. Hovering on votes shows details. Clicking a name opens a WorldBites profile.
• Mobile navigation and spacing improved. Footer only appears on the homepage on mobile.

I’m the type who, once I put my head into something, I work night and day to make it good.

Even if I’m losing money. I don’t really care.

I’m just having fun with it. I’m trying to run a witness....Don't know if it is working...I am just seeing errors, they said it is catching up!

I’ve launched things I thought the chain needed. Just a little support to the chain from my side, as I really earned and learned a lot here!

If I don’t get votes from anyone, well… I still don’t care. I’ll keep going until I don’t feel like it anymore. The day something pisses me off enough, I’m gone. Until then, I’m here....

I’m funding and building this myself. I’m taking the risk, putting in the time and money, without expecting anything from anyone.

That way if something doesn’t work, there’s no one else to blame. I’d rather build it that way.

The plan is to keep improving it until it becomes a real app on the stores by 2027. Until then I’ll just keep updating.

Soon a team will be created!

I’m not looking for people who only show up for rewards.

If you’re here to build, educate, onboard, and support others first, then we’ll probably understand each other.

When the time comes for moderators or leaders, that’s the mindset I’ll be looking for.

Permissions...

I hope the team behind Steem Atlas doesn’t mind that I’m featuring their posts on WorldBites.

If it ever causes a problem, just let me know and I’ll adjust.

---

Same if any creator doesn’t want their posts shown here - Tell me and we’ll handle it.

I care about the whole community, not just one part of it.

Positive-minded people who think about more than themselves are welcome.

If you want to help keep this going, you can delegate to @worldbites.

It goes toward supporting the people who are still writing and pinning.

No pressure either way.

No big promises. Just an open map and an open door.
