Hello Steemians!
Today I am completing my Achievement 5 (Task 2) post under the guidance of the Newcomers Community. In this task, I will review the key features and tools of Steemscan.com.
1. Explain the current Steem price and Volumes on the date of submission?
Upon visiting the main page of Steemscan, the platform displays live market metrics:
- Steem Price: Displays the real-time value of STEEM in USD.
- Volume: Shows the 24-hour trading volume across supported global crypto exchanges.
2. Explain what information is shown under the Latest Transactions and Latest Blocks section?
- Latest Transactions: Shows real-time account activities including transfers, votes, comments, and witness votes. It displays the Block ID, Sender, Receiver, Amount, and Transaction Type.
- Latest Blocks: Displays the most recently created blocks on the Steem blockchain, including Block Height, Witness who produced the block, and the number of transactions contained inside.
3. Explain what information is shown under the Witnesses section and steps to Vote for a Witness?
- Witnesses Section: Lists all active witnesses who maintain and secure the Steem network, along with their status, block production efficiency, and total votes received.
- Steps to Vote:
- Go to the Witnesses tab on Steemscan.
- Browse through the listed witnesses.
- Click on the Vote button next to your desired witness.
- Confirm the transaction using your Active Key via Steemlogin.
4. Explain what is DApps and mention at least 3 DApps which you have used or would like to use?
DApps (Decentralized Applications) are applications built on top of the Steem blockchain that run on a peer-to-peer network without a central authority.
Three notable DApps on Steem:
- Steemit: The primary blogging and social media platform.
- DTube: A decentralized video-sharing platform powered by blockchain.
- 3Speak: A video content creation platform advocating free speech.
5. Explain how to Use Quick Swap and the fees associated with it?
- Quick Swap allows users to instantly convert STEEM tokens into other cryptocurrencies (such as USDT, TRX, or BTC) directly inside Steemscan.
- How to use:
- Navigate to the Quick Swap section.
- Enter the amount of STEEM you wish to swap.
- Select your desired output currency and enter your external wallet address.
- Confirm the exchange.
- Fees: Steemscan charges a small liquidity/service fee (typically around 0.2% - 1% depending on network congestion and partner liquidity rates).
6. Explain Search feature and its uses?
The Search Bar on Steemscan is a powerful tool used to query specific blockchain records:
- Search for Account Names to view wallet histories.
- Search for Transaction IDs (TxHash) to verify transferred funds.
- Search for Block Numbers to inspect historical block details.
