No Trains to Amsterdam Centraal on Saturday, 3 October

Heading to Amsterdam this weekend? Check your route before leaving. Railway work will bring train traffic at Amsterdam Centraal to a complete stop on Saturday, 3 October 2026. No trains will arrive, depart or pass through the station that day.

You can still reach the city centre. Travel by train to another Amsterdam station, such as Sloterdijk, Amstel or Muiderpoort, then continue by metro. NS says its train tickets will be valid on the designated metro routes during the Saturday disruption. Expect crowds and allow extra time.

Sunday, 4 October is different: trains will run, but services through Amsterdam Centraal will be reduced, including routes towards Haarlem, Weesp, Almere and Hilversum. Some services will also be reduced on Monday, 5 October.

Read the Amsterdam Centraal weekend travel guide, and check the NS journey planner shortly before departure. A route that works on Sunday may be impossible on Saturday.
