Bounenkai is, but the food in the picture isn’t. This was a platter that was served at my first bounenkai of the year. It was a mix of French pate, cured meats, and slightly pickled vegetables. It was very good!
Bounenkai are sort of like Christmas parties in the States. They are something you have with friends and co-workers as a way to see each other before the year ends.
