Atlentico Madrid should consider Alvarez leave
Atlético Madrid Should Just Let Julián Álvarez Leave
At this point, I think Atlético Madrid should consider allowing Julián Álvarez to leave because the way he behaved yesterday made it look like his heart is no longer fully with the club.
When Álvarez was unhappy at Manchester City because of limited playing time, Atlético Madrid gave him the opportunity to leave and join them. He signed a six-year contract with the club.
However, just two years into that contract, Álvarez is already unhappy and wants to leave Atlético Madrid.
The player reportedly feels betrayed because Atlético Madrid allegedly promised that they would allow him to leave if another club made an offer of more than €100 million.
But when Barcelona and other clubs showed interest in signing him, Atlético Madrid refused to let him leave for that amount. Instead, they reportedly demanded that any interested club pay his €500 million release clause.
I understand that Álvarez still has four years remaining on his contract, so Atlético Madrid have every right to keep him if they want to.
However, when a player's heart is no longer with the club, forcing him to stay may only create more problems.
At this point, Atlético Madrid should try to find a solution that works for everyone and allow Álvarez to leave for a club where he truly wants to play.
Sometimes, it is better to let a player go than to keep someone who no longer wants to be there. ⚽
