The different stages of a baby growing up

in #babies • last month

Sometimes I get so fascinated with how life is designed by the Universe. There are somethings where humans cannot intervene and cannot change the pace. When a baby is born, from there on the journey of their growth begins. How wonderful it is to see them moving from one step to another and achieving their milestones. When they start turning around, then crawling, making sounds, trying to communicate in their own language, learning to sit, learning to walk and then talk. It's all so beautiful how one after another their milestones are achieved.

It's not only the baby's journey but it is also the parent's journey, they are also in awe when their baby does first of anything. In our culture, we celebrate these little milestones of babies with our family and friends. One of my friends, her little boy has started sitting, and last week she celebrated this milestone. She had invited me to be a part of it.

We have a certain ceremony for this. 7 sweets are kept and the baby sits on it. It's considered to be good luck and it's a ritual which has been going on from generations and getting passed on from one to another.

The seat is ready with the 7 sweets.

Our little boy is busy investigating the sweets. It's his first time also so he is also wondering what's happening :-). We are all wanting him to look at the camera, but he is too busy analyzing what's kept next to him.

Such sweet moments of life these are. When my son was small, I too did these ceremonies and now when he looks at those pictures and feels good about them. So, for those who say that the children do not realize anything, then why do it. True, at this point of time they may not understand what's happening, but when they grow up and look at these memories of their little milestones, they feel so happy about it.
