Back to... [Freewriters Daily Prompt - Saturday]

in #ccc23 days ago (edited)

Mondays through Fridays and then the weekend arrives.

Every week, life seems to be on repeat. Groundhog day sometimes, maybe not to the exact but close or is it Edge of Tomorrow? When a day comes, everything seems to be on an autopilot mode - alarm rings, wake up, shower, go through the day and then night comes. Take the train to the office, walk the steps, take the lift, take out the laptop from the bag, connect all the power adapters, connectors, bluetooth mouse, bluetooth keyboard and all that jazz. While part of me goes on autopilot mode, the brain doesn't and sometimes, I would try to concentrate, to complete what I needed complete for the day but to no avail because the brain refuses to connect.

Then comes the weekend, and auto pilot mode kicks in just the same where laundry, mopping, toilet cleaning becomes part of the mode. Every weekend, it seemed like just yesterday I washed the toilet. As much as I feel like dropping the chore for the weekend, again, the brain refuses to co-operate. The little voices that whisper closely annoyingly, that wouldn't leave until each chore is done. Sometimes I cheat, scrub a little less, mop less but in the following week, I would scrub twice as much or mop twice more, mainly out of guilt from the week before.

Every week, every day, I try inject a little something different to the day. Most times unsuccessful, sometimes successful. And yes, going back to writing is another attempt. You know, typing this post itself brings me back to the memories of when I was so involved here before actual work took things over. But hey, there are many things that I do not mind the repeat, for example when it comes to bedtime. Although, I have to say, I have become rusty. It is already 10 minutes and I hardly wrote much.

I remember the days when I eagerly awaited Saturdays... Now every day feels like the weekend. It's like living in a bubble, haha.

Happy weekend!

Same here, but life looks more like the autopilot on, 24/7

There's that too! Many times I have to think for a long time to remember what I did yesterday, or the day before!

Well... If you ask me this is also part of my lack of interest in life besides of the fact it is not really interesting if I cooked, did some groceries, watered plants, lost the charger of my phone three days ago and my kid spoiled the cake in the microwave yesterday... My memory is already way too full, it would be good to delete a part and just enjoy being without being pushed knowing and remembering everything.
🙃

True, a lot of information isn't necessary. In fact, according to what I read, memory isn't static; each time a memory is accessed, it's different.

That explains why my mother has very different memories from mine about the same events.

Sometimes I wish I had everything recorded on video, because that way I won't be accused of making things up, or they won't change the story haha.

I look forward to feel like its the weekend everyday :) Happy Monday!

Hehe, as long as you can do fun things every weekend! Happy Monday too!

Please, note that certain hashtags are not liked.

#contest is used for those hosting a contest. Can you change it please.

❤️🍀

So sorry. I have removed. Can’t remember how certain things work haha. I copied the tags from your contest post.

Welcome back to CCC, welcome back home… ‘Saturday’ (in your title) reminds me of the competition you organised. It took me almost the whole day to write a story using emoticons!
In a way, it gave me a sense of calm and took my mind off a working week spent on autopilot…

😅 it was freedomshift’s contest that I continued. It was quite a challenge i agree haha. Thank you thank you dear 💗. It is nice to be back.

He's the only one I didn't see back. It makes me kind of sad.

Congratulations!
