Gwanghamun Plaza
Gwanghwamun Square (광화문광장)
If you have ever spent time in central Seoul, you've probably come across Gwanghwamun Plaza. It's right in the middle of the city. It's one of those places where you can really feel the energy and patriotism of Seoul. There are always people walking around, taking pictures, meeting friends, or simply enjoying the open space there.
Gwanghwamun Plaza is pretty big. It goes along Sejong-daero and Sejongno, which are the two major roads in the center of Seoul. What makes this location especially interesting is everything surrounding it. Government buildings, historic sites, museums, and some of Seoul's most famous landmarks are all within easy walking distance, and that makes it kinda convenient.
One of the first things that catches your attention when you get there is the enormous statue of King Sejong the Great. King Sejong was the 4th king of the Joseon Dynasty and is perhaps best known for creating Hangul, the Korean alphabet. They say that this statue is a popular meeting point and one of the most recognizable sights to meet someone. But i cant imagine how expensive itd be to get there to meet the person, tho.
